How about the response time? If something was going down and phone or radio calls were made, how long would it take to get help on the way? Look at what happened on 9/11 when fighter jets were finally called in. They had to be flown in from another state! Just how prepared are we on Long Island?

How long does it take "a small boat" to cross the Atlantic from the middle east?

The U.S has an estimate population of 301,139,947 (July 2007 est.)

The worst terrorist attack in U.S history killed less than 4000. Less than .00000328 percent of the population. Exactly how much of a problem do you genuinely think that there really is in this nation????

You sir, are a W.M.D. victim. That is Weapon if Mass Distraction.

You are being robbed blind by the government and business, while visions of terrorists dance in your head.

Feel free to pop your bubble and come back to reality anytime.

Just another demented example of how far the USA has fallen. There is no coming back from this stupidity. These people couldn't find the dock much less assess suspicious activity. The failed government of George Bush justs keeps on doing the only thing that it has successfully done which is fool some of the people all of the time.

Spare me. Dump Israel and let's get back to a sane way of life.

Hey TF- bravo.

How did we become so afraid of some camel merchants with fertilizer? They robbed our planes and destroyed the towers (Don't get on my case, I lost friends and was close enough to see the smoke). How were they able to steal the planes. Terrorists have no means or assets and they are ridiculously vastly outnumbered on this planet.

The japanese were a "legitimate" nation. This attack was an act of war by a "legitimate nation against another. Not even close to the same.

Nice try though.

Sorry to tell you but the "nation" had all of the tools it needed to stop those attacks on that day.

Fact of the matter is that those in the government who were supposed to keep watch didn't.

So now, we are expected to bend over so that they can have new tools to make their lives easier while our civil liberties are crushed.

Did we ever read 1984? How about Brave New World or Animal Farm. You're living all of them right now.

Wake up. So what if the "terrorists" come and blow us up? They gave us their best shot on 9/11 and barely dented us. Get real.

People aren't concerned that "terrorists" are going to hurt our nation. They're afraid they might personally be hurt by an attack. So now we have to give up our liberties and privacy because of bunch of paranoid nits don't want to deal with their irrational fears, that possibly, maybe, someday, so invisible people who are bent on our total destruction might someday, possibly, maybe, get a hold of some terrible weapon and blow us up.

Are you completely insane.

I don;t care how many people died on 9/11. Remember the saying, "freedom isn;t free". People die. Whether it is from old age or a bomb you're still going to die.

How dare you suggest trading our liberty for your comfort.

Get over yourself.

HI ITN- I think you misconstrued my sarcasm (the problem with writing poorly- you do not hear my tone)

I think we are on the same page on this issue. It is very wrong that we avenged the deaths of almost 4000 people here by losing over 4000 of our bravest military and wasting billions of our tax dollars.

welcome

On 9/12/2001, the U.S. had the chance to take the high road and make the world a better place.

Had we done that, nearly every nation on the planet would have gotten behind us. Instead, we sought revenge and the chance to feel better about ourselves. We did what we always do, we yelled "kill'em" and went to it.

Now, we've lost tens of thousands more people to this stupidity and the government wants us to "bend over" for the "war on terrorism". Are we kidding?

While I am sorry anyone should lose there child, especially to war; let me remind everyone here that these so-called "heros" all voluteered to fight. They all thought that picking up a gun was the best way to solve our nations problems and heartache.

Sorry to say, these "heroes" are now learning the hard way why you go to war last, if at all.

It is easy to take a life for what you believe in. It is hard to give your life for what you believe in.

But, more to the point; this proposal to turn all these personal boaters into some kind of watchdog; is just another W.M.D.- Weapon of Mass Distraction.

If we keep doing hwat we are doing, we are going ot keep getting what we are getting.

It is past the time to find new ways to cope in a world filled with people who aren't American, Don;t what to be American and who dispise everything being American means.

God Blessed our Nation. Now each of us have to do the same.
