1010wins also had this story with some douche bag reporter standing next to the shark holding a mic and smiling. Maybe it's just me but I'd prefer seeing her laying in the sand dead and the shark swimming just offshore and smiling.

Hey Newsday, do you think you include a picture every now and then? In 2009, that sort of technology is readily available.

100% agree with no exceptions. If print media wants to survive, they must adapt. Sure, Newsday updates their website VERY fast, but info is usually lacking (lack of which beach this happened at), and lack of pictures.

There have been several stories of poles being put up for MetroPCS's expansion, but no picture of the equipment to show what all the fuss is about. Newsday must step up, or perish.

Let's all pet the shark and post pictures of us on facebook. Pushing it back in the water is a bad idea. Idiots.

The shark was later asked to leave because he didn't have a resident's sticker.

Great idea! Let's take this potentially diseased shark and push it back into the water where it can spread it's illness to other sharks! Sometimes it's better to let nature be and not hug the tree.

these photos are horrible! How about a shot that shows how BIG the thing is? Also, this article reads as if it were written by a third grader. That is all.

Those onlookers look really stupid poking at one of God's creatures while it dies. Also, why didn't the authorities remove the shark and put it back into the ocean where it could die in dignity?

I complained earlier that there was no picture and now there is one. I should retract my complaint but Newsday is notorious for a lack of accompanying images on their web articles.

Don't treat this like print media, you have more room and space - a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Was it poisoned by something? I hope not. That thing is HUGE. Poor thing.

Yeah, great idea Pat - put the shark back in the ocean where it can die in dignity. Then all the other sharks can swim to the beach and feed on its carcass. You, my friend, are a moron.
