Whats next Nambla will be allowed to wed young boys or men can marry 10 or 20 wives? The next group of deviots will use the same sex marrage as their platform agument to be allowed to wed whom, what and how many they please. Why do politicians or judges go against the will of the majority of the people? Its not the way of nature. What you do as an adult with an adult is not the governments business but I think marring the same sex is not a marrage. God bless you and may the state and insurance companies give you benefits but leave marrage to a man and a woman.

This is total nonsense. If civil unions are going to be a stepping stone to gay marraige (or gayrraige)then I will no longer support civil unions. Stop the insanity!

Governor Patterson is a disaster on the issue of marriage.

Not only is his position on gay marriage offensive and wrong, but his personal marriage has been an embarrassment
to the State of New York.

Yeppers, God said that to me one night a couple of years ago...right after he put GW Bush in office! LOL. Come on, wake up and smell the coffee. If God didn't want Gays to be together, he wouldn't have made them so freaking hot! I vote YES!

What are all you people so afraid of? That if gay marriage is legalized you'll suddenly crave penises? Get over it. Gay marriage doesn't effect my marriage one bit. It doesn't effect your's either (assuming you can even get spouses).
Why are you so threatened?

We probably have more rednecks in Suffolk County than the panhandle of Florida.
If they thought they could get away with it, they'd be lynching blacks, mexicans(ooooh yeah), jewish, and anything else out here.
They're all for Blackwater, they just can't afford them.

Governor Patterson has no right to make ANY moral judgment, considering his own profligate attitude to marriage. It's no surprise to me that he, who had to hang his list of marital infidelities right up in our faces (did we ask?)would support a portal to gay "marriages" in New York State.

Get RID of this moronic clown and get us a real governor with some decent moral values.

Every time he opens his mouth, he further embarrasses New York and is too dumb to realize he's embarrassing himself.

I have absolutely no problem with civil unions and the gay and lesbian community's ability to reap the same tax and legal benefits as straight couples. However, California should've had enough intelligence to follow Massachussetts' lead and restrict marriage ceremonies to those residing within their state. Of course, we are talking about California, so I didn't expect as much. This will be overturned in the Supreme Court, I'm sure. After all, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in CA is the highest overturned court on the appellate circuit. Just speaks to the aptitude of the legislators and judges residing on the west coast. As for New York, great Patterson...Just what we need...more people flocking in from other states after getting married in California. Don't we have enough of a population density problem already?

gov paterson is a dope. he's doing his main rivals cuomo and suozzi dirty work for them. with both houses of the state legislature and the governorship in democrats hand this issue will be off the table (and gay marriage legal) by the time paterson seeks reelection. both cuomo and suozzi want to be president so they have to be careful how they handle the issue. it's still very unpopular nationally. by taking the lead paterson is helping his main rivals for governor.

same sex marriage is not set forth in the constitution, and the constitution has not been amened to say as such, therefore same sex marriage is illegal and the judges are intentioanlly breaking the law. It is not their job to interpret the law in this instance, rather, it is to follow the law based upon the constitution which is based upon Christian principles,as the founding fathers based many of many of the tenets upon. Yet,we live in dire times where liberal lawbreakers insist upon executing "their civil rights". Soon the judges could interpret, that, hey its ok to marry a man and a 12 year old girl, why not! They could work around it somehow. For all of you idiots out there who think you can go about simply amending laws without first trying to amend the constitution, be careful what you ask for. Dred Scott, etc. Judges also approved Japanese interrment camps, and approved no voting for blacks, so go ahead and listen to liberal overzealous judges who have no clue.

All the same excuses you neanderthals posted have been used to decry interracial marriage.

As long as they are consenting human beings, what does it matter? OH NO, your invisible sky god said something vague and easily manipulated in a holy book actually written by men with biases. Men surely can't make mistakes, right?

Crawl out from under the rock and realize that forcing your beliefs on everyone is one of the biggest reasons for war on this planet. Gay people are no different from other people and you should show them that respect.
