A friend of mine asked a very good question--how do all these monsters that attack Manhattan manage to avoid going through Staten Island or Brooklyn? They don't call the inlet that leads to lower Manhattan the Narrows for nothing, and it's about as straight as a drag pageant.

Maybe it fell from the sky or came down from the mountains in upstate new york? i hope they give some explanation where it came from, and a lot of things flying around, watching the previews it it reminds me alot like the smoke monster from lost.

Good point; I was assuming the monster came from the ocean. But if it comes down from upstate New York, that's hardly unpopulated territory. It should be wrecking Westchester, Rockland, and/or The Bronx before it gets to Manhattan.

I chose Manhattan because Staten Island stinks too much, and the people of Brooklyn are doing a fine job wrecking that all by themselves.
Next stop on my reign of terror up the Hudson, Yorktown Heights.

Don't waste your time. saw it and it is such a waste of time. From the first minute you want all these annoying humans in the movie to be devoured by the monster in the first 5 minutes. It felt like I was trapped in a crappy party filled with mental zeros dressed in trendy clothing and could not leave until the monster came and destroyed them. Trust me. Don't waste your time. Worst movie since Blair Witch. I only attended because I was invited to a press screening. STAY AWAY. You get all you need to know from the trailer

I couldn't read past the first two sentences...how do you put 9/11, the Iranian president and The Republican National Convention in the same sentence. Please Jan...

Was it worse than 'I Am Legend?'.. because I just saw that on Sunday and I wanted to scream! that movie actually had potential,(and I hate to say it, but Will Smith did a great job).. but it was just so drab...
You think you're going to see action and horror but instead you see a guy talking to dolls, driving cars, and cooking, I could have stayed home and saved $40.00! Is Cloverfield like that or is it more action packed?

And whoever made the ref to 'LOST'... as soon as I saw the preview the first thing I thought was "there's going to be clues for 'LOST'"... but I don't think that's true anymore.

and as for how the monster got into the city, i'm saying the same way those annoying tourist get there. Click their heels 3 times saying "i wish i could destroy NYC, i wish i could destroy NYC, i wish i could destroy NYC" and next thing they know they're walking around the city causing problems.

well I am Legend is based on a book, its not suppose to be a action adventure, its suppose to deal with this mans depression and faults as one of the last living human beings on the planet

This movie rocked. No, it wasn't perfect, but it was a lot of fun. Well worth the price of admission.

Did the critic ever consider that if the camera didn't keep rolling, we wouldn't have a movie. Duh, indeed. Anyway, I saw it and it was a rollicking roller-coaster ride.

Actually the monster probably emerged from Staten Island dumps! LOL! Wouldn't you be pissed if you were there?

Just got back from a showing.

As mentioned above, it wasn't perfect and it was filmed as if it were "The Blair Witch Monster Project" which gave me a headache at times but all in all no disappointments here!

This movie sucks.
Maybe if your 15 you'll like it.
Anyone over 15 will see it as a combination of 'The Blair Witch Project' and reenacted 9/11 scenes.
Not the worst movie ever but a complete disappointment.
Terrible Godzilla remake shot Blair Witch style using the attack to symbolize 9/11 just as the Godzilla attack in the original was supposed to ne the US attack on Japan.
I should have seen Juno.
Save your money and wait for cable. This crap is no better than those made for the Sci-Fi channel movies.

Oh yeah this guy must have a camcorder battery from Krypton.
The battery is on for hours.
They also use the light from the camera and the nightvison YET it still records.
Also one of the characters goes into a magical Radio Shack where they sell precharged packaged new cellphone batteries.
What crapola.

After the characters are established the action gets going, its a non stop ride. Great special effects a real roller coaster movie. Stop picking it apart, this is suppose to be entertainment, its not reality. Enjoy the show, its only a movie. And well worth your money and your time

I SAW THE MOVIE LAST NIGHT, AND I DEFINITELY SAW AN E-Z PASS HANGING FROM THE MONSTERS NECK, SO HE EITHER CAME ACROSS A BRIDGE OR THROUGH A TUNNEL. NEXT QUESTION ???
