Carlo Gambino was a great man, who did a lot of great things. Carlo Gambino helped a lot of people. I had a friend who used to baby-sit for Carlo Gambino in Long Island, and after my friend attended high school Carla Gambino got him a job in the garment industry so that my friend could earn money to go to college. My friend worked as a buyer for a big clothing line, and he earned enough money to study business for four years in college without having to work while he attended college. After college my friend got a job as a studio executive at Paramount, and then later he worked for Universal. My friend had a great life thanks to Carlo Gambino. My friend was kind of like Finn from "Great Expectations."

Carlo was a great man who helped a lot of people.

More likely, your friend was a part time loan shark goon for Carlo. He needed plenty of those in the garment district.

And Carol didn't live on Long Island. He lived on Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn. He even had a listed phone number.

And how many other people were whacked or had their legs broken by loan sharks thanks to the benevolence of Carlo Gambino and his minions? Let's not forget all the money he made from dope dealers who gave a piece of their action to the mob, and the thousands of lives ruined as a result. There's also the political corruption, and "mob tax" on all sorts of businesses, from constructon to the garment and trucking businesses that made living and doing business in New York so expensive. Any one who knows anything about how the mob really operates wouldn't be praising it.

Oh yes he did. In Massapequa at the end of Club Dr.on the water. Use to babysit for a family on Riviera Dr.S. The FBI would watch his house(allegedly..LOL) from the swim club that was on Riviera. At that time, Gambino was in his 60's.

The FBI also watched his permanent residence in Brooklyn, where he was living when he had his heart attack.

That "summer home" was never listed in his name. He was Carlo Gambino, not Joe Biden.

"Great Expectations" is one of the best movies ever made, I love that film.

And I too heard great things about Carlo Gambino, I heard that he was a great man.

I also know one of his descendents and she is a wonderful and generous Christian woman with great morals and values.

Salute,

Michael Franzese is doing charity work full time now to help to make our world a better place, Michael Franzese is a good man. He is helping at risk youth with his "Breaking Out" program.

Organizations such as "Breaking Out" are great for at risk youth, cities here such as Anaheim need to have programs such as Breaking Out...

----------

What is Breaking Out?

The Breaking Out Foundation is a 501(c) 3 corporation founded on Christian principles. It was created for the purpose of providing a program that will motivate and inspire at-risk youth to establish career goals in both the entertainment and sports industries, and to provide them with the guidance, education and training to pursue those goals and realize their dreams.

Founding Principle

Michael Franzese believes that every young person in America should have the opportunity to earn an honest living in a career of their choosing. He also realizes that many young people face challenges and struggles in their lives that seriously undermine their ability to do so. He believes that if you provide those young people who are at great risk of losing out to a life of crime and other destructive influences with the motivation and opportunity to become productive, responsible citizens, by utilizing a medium with which they can relate, that most of the time — they will succeed in achieving an established career goal.

Purpose

Motivate and inspire at-risk students to “break out” of difficult situations through education and community support and to provide them with the opportunity to develop careers in the entertainment and sports industries.

Methods

Utilize the aura of the entertainment and sports industries to communicate the importance of education, avoiding negative influences and establishing meaningful and attainable career goals. There are literally hundreds of career opportunities in the various jobs that support the main players in both the sports and entertainment industries. The Breaking Out Foundation, in cooperation with the leaders of both industries, as well as those in the local communities, will provide at-risk youth with the opportunity and training needed to pursue a career in either industry.

The Breaking Out program is in the process of being developed and implemented in communities nationwide. If you are interested in providing financial support to the Foundation, or in establishing the program in your community, please visit our contact page.

I knew one of the guys who was with Franzese in his 1980s gas tax scam in Florida. Hadn't seen him in 20 years, but there he was in the papers.

So Franzese gets religion, right? But the others did the time. Once a wiseguy, always a wiseguy. His old pals are now on skids. What did they expect?

I guess his "limited education" kept him restricted to the skill set of: murder, arson, prostitution, gambling, drugs and loan sharking.

Yeah, I guess you can make a lot of money with that.

Carlo Gambino never got busted for anything, so there is no proof that Carlo ever did anything wrong, and Carlo was known for wanting to make the family legit, and Paul Castellano also wanted to make the family legit. And everyone knows that Carlo was against drugs, and Carlo was never involved with drug dealing.

The movie the "Godfather" was based on Carlo Gambino, and if you remember in the movie Don Corleone was against drugs.

And Carlo did a lot of good things, and Carlo helped a lot of people.

Except for all those bodies. And the fact that he never had a job or owned a business.

He get's the same question that Gotti was given:

What do you do all day, and how do you get all that money?
