Gov. Sarah Palin would beat all the VP prospects listed. In a CQ online poll that is set in a round by round bracketed format, she has trounced everyone so far by wide margins and there is only one round of voting to go. The final round of voting will be her against Huckabee for the winner of the VP poll.
Palin is a strong conservative voice and is the next conservative 'Rockstar' for the party.

How about Huckabee? He has been very popular in similar polls but you don't seem to be taking him seriously. But Michael Bloomberg is one of our choices? Ha! Leave politics to those who really understand it.

Governor of Florida, but not likely he would accept that position.

Hey Tom Dial....Bobby Jindal is from Louisianna not Mississippi. Romney was the only viable candidate during the primaries for President and he is the only viable candidate for VP now. This one is a no brainer it's not even funny.

He should pick someone younger; otherwise they will look like the grandpa ticket - at least no one with gray hair. Marketing is important. Huckabee is too anti-everything - which would make on-the-fence people like me run away.:)

I really think Mike Huckabee is the best VP pick. It seems like there's a move not to take him seriously, and yet he's the best communicator of social conservative issues since Reagan. McCain needs a VP who identifies well with the middle class, his greatest challenge this election season. When it comes to reaching the middle class, Mike huckabee and Tim Pawlenty (who also is not on the list) are probably the best choices. And while Pawlenty could help in trying to take Minnesota, it's hard to imagine anyone adding as much positive net-effect to the ticket as Huckabee (though I'm sure the media would say McCain garbbed a guy from the far-right, despite the fact that the far-right thought Huckabee was too populist in the primary season). I can't understand why people don't take Huckabee seriously. I heard a pundit recently say that Huckabee would hurt McCain in the swing-state of Nevada, because of a sore spot with Mormon voters due to the bitter contest with Romney. That pundit must have forgotten that Huckabee won Nevada in the primary season. Also, Huckabee does real well in those southern states that Obama is trying to make swing (Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Virginia, the Carolinas, and so on). There isn't a better debater, other than maybe Ron Paul who can't carry much support (though the supporters he does have are devoted). I think Huckabee was the best budgeter in the primary season (he had the least money to work with but was never in debt, and his campaign staff were never found involved in scandals), and I think he could make the difference in reaching blue collar voters whom he did well with, along with women and latinos and young people. This is the first time my home state (Michigan) might vote Republican since Reagan, and it would help to have Huck, who was the best on-the-ground campaigner in the primary season.

While there are other good picks, no one else even comes close to offering as good a nation-wide positive net-effect as Mr. Huckabee. I hope he gets the pick. I hope McCain adds getting rid of the IRS to his talking points.

Take that back, Huckabee didn't win Nevada, but he did (they said at the time) "surprisingly well." Which means Romney took 1st and Huckabee and MacCain were neck-n-neck.

Mike Huckabee would make the perfect running-mate. Young enough, great speaker and debator, and scandal free. He's also the type of person everyone can look up too. I don't understand why he is not at the top of the "Board" right now. He ran a tremendous campaign on a very limited budget. He says what he means--and he stands for an America we can all be proud of.
