Perhaps someone could explain why "possession of a hypodermic instrument" is against the law considering our governement already distributes them to drug addicts free of charge????

I knew a teacher from Elmont. She said that the faculty at Elmont JHS use to smoke joints on their lunch break. They felt it was okay because it relieved stress and made the day go faster. The students were still taught per the curriculmn and didn't suffer. No one did anything stronger then pot during school hours. Hey, teachers are human too!

It sells for $20 to $25 a dose, is sometimes used as a date-rape drug, and can cause delirium, amnesia, depression, and long-term memory and cognitive difficulties, the justice department site says.

The above quote is from the last paragraph in the article. Read what it says. Then tell me how DA Spota could put a self admitted Ketamine mainliner to give testimony at a trial and give credible testimony for an alleged event that took place 5 years earlier.

One can only wonder how Judge Braslow would have chartercized him if he was testifying for the defense of Marty Tankleff in the 440 hearing. Judge Hudson, had no problems with the credibilty of this witness even though his testimony was entirely discredited by the DA's own prosecution witnesses.

You have no idea what you are talking about as far as the drugs. However, some of them dabble with alcohol. They probably wouldn't want alcohol or drugs if you (I mean parents) acted like parents instead of friends and controlled your little maniacs.

The judge was so amused with the testimony of the witness using ketamine, that when he left the bench to chat with the lawyer, he stretched his arms out like a cat and said, "I feel like a relaxed cat".

He allowed 12 nitwit jurors to find the defendant guilty of one of the crimes the K_Head testified to and it was reversed in the appellate court.

Maybe the Judge uses Special K himself as it seems he forgot his oath when he swore in a judge years earlier.

FIRE HER BUTT AND GET RID OF GARBAGE LIKE THIS AROUND OUR KIDS. VERY NICE EXAMPLE TO KIDS AND THE ONLY LOGICAL THING FOR SCHOOL DISTRICT WOULD BE TO FIRE HER AND DEMONSTRATE A NO TOLERANCE FOR THIS SORT OF THING. NO HAND HOLDING IN THIS TYPE OF JOB, JUST OUT THE DOOR. GONE, UNSUITABLE FOR THE RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH BEING A TEACHER.

"teachers should be given mandatory drug and alcohol test"

Yes, let's waste millions to test EVERYONE because a few people are screwed up. That's the solution. Let's drug test the parents while we're at it, and the students, too.

Okay, let's test everyone who votes for the school budget, because we want them to be included. After all, they can't be under the influence if they want to influence schools.

It's amazing to me that people are willing to destroy civil liberties to prevent a few crimes.

We don't even know if this person was a teacher at all. After all, she was high as a kite, and would say anything to get out of trouble.

Actually, I think you've got that backwards. It's because the kids are so fk'd up that our teachers are doing drugs. Imagine having to deal with spoiled, rude children or teenager all day who have no respect for their elders or any authority.

ACTUALLY, teachers SHOULD be given drug tests and whatever test possible to weed out the teachers who today are apparently GETTING DRUNK IN CLASS, HAVING SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH STUDENTS, TAKING DRUGS, ETC.

Per you: "It's amazing to me that people are willing to destroy civil liberties to prevent a few crimes."

Per ME: youre a moron!

Of course they have no respect for authority. They have ZIPPO respect for their parents. The parents gave ALL control away to their children when they were little. I watch my cousins kids, and they dictate to her what she is to do.(Not the only instance). Parents put no limits, restrictions or boundaries on their kids. SAD out there. AND the parents don't even realize the kids WANT restrictions, boundaries and limits. DUH to the parents
