Frustration flooded storm-battered parts of New York on Tuesday as Congress seemed ready to allow yet another day to pass without approving badly needed disaster aid.

Exactly right.
The only ones oppressed are the IQ 80 crowd who watch Fox News for their info and talking points.
They're always victims and watching Fox News is oppressive.

"Duck and Hide" nonsense. It is PRECISELY about stealing the money of the middle class in order to disempower it. And the true fat cats are trotted out to endorse it.

Algore has tax lawyers that could pass for rabid wolverines.

These emergency funds, by the feds for Hurricane Sandy, are for infrastructure, correct? They aren't for rebuilding homes? Down here we get hurricanes and are responsible for maintaining expensive homeowners insurance.....Seem's anyone living within 15 miles of the ocean, should have mandatory insurance....

I live within 15 miles of the ocean. Didn't see a drop of water near my house that day. It would have to be the Tsunami of all time for me to get a flood from the ocean.

Me too, but in Florida, and we have had flooding from the extreme rains, and tornados are often spun off of hurricanes....

Many east-coasters build overtaxed homes on low-lying land that is known to be at the center of massive periodic storms. Although this provides plenty "snob appeal" for insecure home owners, after these catastrophic storms demolish their improvidently built homes, they moan and groan that taxpayers should "help them" once the inevitable happens.
Hard working overtaxed Americans include decent non-tobacco smokers of good-will as well as overtaxed Americans who enjoy the simple worker ("middle") class pleasure of using an occasional tobacco product.
When was the last time organized groups of owners of homes that have been built on low lying land demanded the Government stop abusing decent tobacco users and non-tobacco users of good-will - including hard working owners of neighborhood beer joints and restaurants?
I have never heard of ANY organized resistance to this tyranny from those who now are demanding that decent non-tobacco smokers of good-will, as well as decent tobacco users, be taxed to rebuild their homes - homes that in all likelihood would only be washed away once the next catastrophic storm hits. Far from it. In fact, election results clearly show that most of them wholeheartedly support Mayor Bloomberg's abuse of the ordinary minority who pay taxes.
Let the moaners and the groaners rebuild their OWN homes.

Guess building a big overpriced home next to the ocean compensates for a small penis for many of those folks.

Even birds are smart enough to re-build their nest somewhere else when it gets wiped out the first time.

The best thing about Bloomberg is he is there and not here.
