As a human being & FIRM believer in humanity (even if it doesn't believe in itself), can No longer tolerate with a closed mind as well as a closed mouth-the immense amount of immorality that WE as a society have come to tolerate. WE can not hold higher standards for others than we hold for ourselves! It is imperative that we stop watching & start DOING! People have become too comfortable with the "better him than me" ideal...well, imagine for once that YOU are the him in any horrific situation...imagine for once your CHILD is that "him". Domestic violence is on a rise & the victims tend to remain exactly that-victims. There is little to NO recourse for the offender & too often are the victims treated as the criminal. There are few to no options for victims to turn to so that they may finally be set free from the ones who supress them. Child abuse as well sexual abuse has become just as excused anymore because it is more work than people want to invest-an investment of HUMANITY is what we are lacking! It is a sad, sad day to live in such a world as this. My frustrations are endless...also, how is it our president & law makers can set into motion a so called "better medical program"~BUT~EXEMPT themselves from it? Why is it good enough for the rest of the nation they govern, but not themselves? How is it they are allowed to raise their own wages while WE are left to fight for the scraps from their table?! Once again-WE can not hold higher standards for others than we hold for ourselves! If the president is good enough to be protected by guns-why not you & YOUR family? His children are protected by guns are they not? Why are OUR families not good enough to defend BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY?! This is a FREE country people-WAKE UP! WE elect these people-WE sit & do NOTHING about it-YOU make your own excuses while crying about how wronged you are! RISE UP & DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! Change does not come from the monomaniacal view of your couch! Drug use is on the rise & we pretend to be blind to unless you yourself have fell victim to it's invitation due to your own weaknesses. Avoiding the investment of self-reflection which leads inevitably to a course of action if you want a life better than what YOU have allowed it to become. People have settled into a sort of "comfortable misery" rather than stepping through the door of self-awareness. It is easier to deflect the inner sanctum of oneself, rather than focus inwards. If one would only realize the great gift of strength that comes along behind the process of suffering through the journey of finding oneself. It is also a greater gift when we give ourselves completely to others & spread lovingkindness instead of the misery within our own domain. Imagine what the world around YOU could be if you simply smiled a little more, took up for the under-dog, stood up for yourself, your family & YOUR rights as a loving-feeling HUMAN BEING! Is it not just as simply easy to care for humanity as it is to condemn it? Once again- WE can not hold higher standards for others than we hold for ourselves! Eat dinner as a family, teach your children to respect their elders & teach them the VALUE of hard work! Hold the door open for a complete stranger, send a message or make a phone call out of the blue just to let someone know you care...it is THAT simple! Pay it forward & watch how the world around you finally opens itself up to you =) Bless you all-Tanya Gourd =)
