Trayvon’s Legacy – Miami-Dade County School Board Lawyers Now Evaluating “Legal Risk” Pending Final FOIA Release

We knew last year the diversionary activity around the Miami-Dade School Police Department, which was coordinated, sanctioned and authorized by Miami-Dade School Superintendent, Alberto Carvalho, was illegal.

Consequently we knew a public airing of the illegal activity was a risk to all parties involved.

Now, however – the entire School Board might be legally responsible for engaging in unlawful conspiracy which resulted from the internal investigation within the M-DSPD and the School Boards’“willful blindness” to the actual finding(s).

It doesn’t take a law degree to understand that when you intentionally construct a policy, or group of policies, which specifically hide illegal behavior you are on the wrong side of the law – even when it is the top law enforcement officer giving the instructions to do it.

The officers within the department admitted, under oath, to falsifying documents, hiding evidence, and concealing information. Here are a few sample affidavits we have uploaded (((see full article)))

Chief Hurley was following the orders of School Superintendent Alberto Carvalho to hide the criminal activity of black male student offenders.

One of the students who benefitted from the Police concealing criminal activity was Trayvon Martin.

However, Trayvon was only one, there were presumably hundreds more as the affidavits from each of the officers within the Miami-Dade School Police Department attest.

Reports were falsified, evidence was concealed/destroyed, and in some cases hidden within the evidence/property room - intentionally not investigated. In the case of Trayvon Martin, the stolen jewelry within his backpack was just shipped for storage to a property room without a police report and listed as randomly “found property”.

This is one example of how young black male students were diverted away from the criminal justice system. Not by correcting the behavior, but by falsely documenting the activity and then using school discipline to replace criminal adjudication.

The M-DSPD never investigated student crime when it was carried out by young black males. And in the case of Trayvon Martin, they took it several steps further, they concealed criminal conduct, hid stolen merchandise, and actively worked to cover it up.

A Marine Corps veteran was eating lunch at a sandwich restaurant in Houston on Thursday when he saw two men pull up hoodies, tie on bandanas and enter a video game store.

The 28 year-old had a concealed carry permit but had left his gun in his truck.

He went to get it and waited for the criminals to emerge from the store, where they had robbed a cashier and stolen cash and video games, KPRC reports.

When the robbers exited, the veteran confronted them. He raised his gun and asked a by-stander to call 911, police said.

“At that point, the robber raised his pistol and aimed it at the 28-year-old male,” Harris County sheriff’s deputy Thomas Gilliland said, according to KPRC.“Fearing for his life, he exchanged gunfire with the robber. After several rounds were fired the robber attempted to leave in the vehicle. He was struck and killed as he was sitting inside the vehicle.”

The second robber bolted during the exchange of fire. Witnesses saw him stripping his hoodie and bandana. Several schools in the area were placed on lockdown during the search for the second suspect, though he was found captured at a local shopping outlet.

KPRC reported that the veteran was not hurt during the shooting. He was questioned by homicide detectives before leaving the scene on his own.
