This is really a shame. I personally liked the fact that I could see how many drunk Long Islanders there are... there driving with alcohol in their system, its criminally negligence and if they kill someone ... its murder. They know they can kill someone before they turn on their car. Besides... all you innocent til prooven guilty fanatics... if they smell alcohol on you... GUILTY!

I am glad to see this happen! It was about time! Some politician was arrested out od stae, was his name smeared and his mug shot put up on this wall. Proubly not! How about a politician wall of shame? When they get caught with either their hands in the pockets of others or their pants down, put their mug shots up! We also have the right to know what are elected officials are up to.

Where are all the drunken cops, firemen, corrections officers, probation officers, sheriffs, judges, politicians etc... So the law applies for some & not for the ones who supposedly (ya think) should know better. So none of these so called “professionals” get caught up in Nassau PD’s web? Funny they (the aforementioned) abuse alcohol in greater numbers than any other profession but… they’re exempt from arrest & ohh my God should I even speak it… Nassau’s career ending "Wall of Shame". Whatta crock of shit……

To Newsday Editor John Mancini, County Executive Thomas Suozzi & all those who support this wall of shame joke… may all your (& your loved ones) skeletons & past present & future transgressions be posted for public display, embarrassment, & humiliation……

When will NEWSDAY stop their trashy ways and take down mugshots on the frontpage of the site?

Hey NEWSDAY, why don't you buy the domain name www.criminalmugshots.com and put your nonsense on there? I am tired of staring at these sad sack losers faces every time I open your site. You would think it's bad for business but your editor is a moron.

Nassau County is really going to pay for this Suozzi screwup.

I guy stops off after a hard week working has one too many, he's arrested, attends "treatment", is saddled with criminal record (loses said job), family goes on welfare, has to pay huge fines and lawyer fees (unless he's an illegal, then he says he can't afford one and we pay), loses his license but can later drive with a restricted, and then, to top it all off, he get sued by the county looking to take his car as an "instrumentality of the crime".

Meanwhile felons are being acquited.

By pulling that women over who was a Diabetic not asthmatic<<<if you are going to make a statement get your facts straight, the cops not only saved her life that night but the lives of other possible innocent citizens who could have been killed. Instead of her looking to sue them now for money she should be thanking them. Newsday clearly repotred the truth about that and that should be the end of it. You will change your opinion the day you bury someone you loved after they were killed by a drunk driver! I stand firm on this Wall of Shame and I believe it is a deterant. Eventually maybe the numbers of wall of Shamers will drop each month. If we can get even 1 more drunk not to drive it's worth the very few who will be found not guilty and those found not guilty will either have crooked lawyers getting them off or they will be of celebrity or wealth status who always seem to be above the law anyway.
The cop still arrested her for driving under the influence. Apparently, he didn't believe that she has diabetic issues.

maybe you should get your facts straight.

Cheap way for Suozzi to get on voters' radar. Cheap way for newsday to get readers/web traffic.

-

The symbol of justice is holding a scale because justice needs to be balanced. Arrest criminals who are found guilty, not accused people no matter what the crime.

-

The news has a fetish with drunk driving accidents because they are sensational, make you want to tune in. Cultivates a witch hunt mentality where everybody wants to burn "drunks" at the stake before asking any questions.

-

We need to rise above the mob mentality. This is the right decision.
