"Leon would face up to 10 years in prison if convicted and would serve any sentence in the U.S. before being deported, Hanaway said"

How quickly our government forgets. I guess under the Obama administration it would have been politically incorrect to blow this a-hole out of the sky. Ship his butt back to Canada.

So NORAD never had any intentions of shooting the plane down. So why scramble 2 jets to fly around wasting fuel. Also, why is it always quickly determined in all these incidents that there was no terror threat. How do we know this wasn't a test of our system by terrorist to see just what we would do. I don't feel any safer than I did since 9/11.

"For the life of me, I can't understand why this guy wasn't shot down by our military. How could ANYONE know what his intent was? He might have had chemical weapons on board, or maybe even a nuke. What prevented him from crashing into a power plant and taking out a power grid? Why is this such a "ho-hum" non-story in the press? I just don't get it... what does homeland security do? He didn't acknowledge radio transmissions, ignored military jets buzzing him and wasn't even met on the ground by police... WHY??? Do we need another terrorist attack BIGGER than 9/11 to wake up???"

I asked this YESTERDAY! No one seems to care!

I didn't know we had mind readers in the military. This fool could have been testing the waters to determine if the US had enough spine to shoot down a plane. Obviously we do not.

So, he's mentally disturbed, changed his Muslim name stole a plane, had a death wish, refused all attempts at contact and refused direct orders from armed fighter jets yet somehow, they quickly determined he had no hostile intent? How the F did they figure that out?
