I've gotten the auto warantee call a few dozen times. Usually I dont pick up but last time they called I did and waited for a human. I then asked said human which auto company they represented. None was the answer. Then I asked why they were calling me when I was on the NYS Do not call list and the priceless answer was, "They were just kidding around". That's right, this has all been some silly prank.

The sad part is someone must be falling for this c-rap or it would not pay for them to continue to make all those calls.

I get the same exact calls, they hang up on you when you tell them to stop....next time I will blow a whisle into the phone when they pick up.....that should blow their eardrums out!!!! They want to play games.....they picked the wrong guy here!!!
Blowing a whistle will do nothing genius the phone speaker is restricted in the frequencies and strength of the signal they put out. Blow all you want they will just be laughing on the other end.

Hey - The Real Scam, you need to learn how to use the spell check on your computer.

Then go read a book or get away from your keyboard and learn something besides the bigoted sociopaths you listen to.

From what you wrote it's clear that you have never learned anything except from the crowd you hang with.

Stop listening to the conservative zealots on the radio and other media outlets.

If you don't want to wait for Schumer's investigation search for NUMBERCOP. They are tracking most spam numbers and offer a spam blocking service cell phones http://www.numbercop.com

Yeah, he should go after them. I'm getting calls non stop. Also Credit Card companies and all sorts of company surveys. The Do-Not-Call List does simply not work. I've got a blackberry and I'll check out this NumberCop service, as someone mentioned before.

This service appears to work exclusively with cell/mobile phones. Land line phones also get these calls...

Not all people have caller ID, IDIOT! The fact is that our home phone doesn't have caller ID, so I have to run out and pick it up EVERY SINGLE TIME it rings in case it is my parents or something important..... though it's usually just a 'no one there' phone call (not even BREATHING for some reason!) or these auto swarranty phone calls.
Make your life easier, buy a answering machine/caller ID and when the phone rings...just listen up to who's calling. I never answer my phone!! When someone dosen't leave a message, I assume they were trying to sell me something I don't want anyway.

Sometimes, maybe most times, I'm struggling to pick up before it goes to voice mail. Imagine my joy, dripping wet and freezing in the shower to hear "This is a reminder that we still haven't heard from you ..."

If you play along when they call, they'll ask to confirm the car, year, make model then ask for your personal info. I told them that I needed to know the name of the company first. They gave it to me, then I told them that they were calling me illegally. No calls since and its been quite a few months. Unfortunately theres probably people out there who dont know any better and are giving out their personal info to these people.

PLEASE help me with these people!

I get called at least once a day on my cell phone. The thing is, my car is only 5 months old with a full factory warranty.

When I try to speak to an actual person, they promptly hang up on me.

The worst part about this practice is that it skirts the law where we have the right to tell them to put us on their Do Not Call list. After all, if there's no one to talk to, then you can't get on the list, and they can call you as many times as they like.

I've been getting scam calls for thirty years. Complained, wrote, etc. to every politician.

Result? Zip. Nuttin'. Sorry, can't help you.

Some of the calls even claimed they were from police associations or the AFL-CIO. Called them.
Who cares? Nope, it's not us. Do anything about it? NEVER!!

All these are mob backed scams. Always have been.

Someone forgot to take care of Chuck. They'll correct that soon enough.

Beside the auto warranty boiler rooms there is also the lower your credit card interest rate calls. The bull dont call list should be doing the investigating not the schmuck Schumer.

So Verizon settles the lawsuit but Chuckie does nothing until he receives just one of the calls that "bothers" him while in session? Where was he when all the bogus auto warranty calls started a year ago?

This fits Chuck's profile: anything for a headline. Does anyone recall Chuckie's overreaction during the Corey Lidle plane crash? You would think the little 'planes were attacking.

It worked for me. As soon as I heard the message I hung up. This way cell time usage is minimal.

Don't press either number and speak with anyone. Ignore them and they will go away.

The government will never be able to stop 100% of these calls especially with spoofing equipment in play.

So just hang up and don't let it get you riled up. Less stress that way.
