Typical Michael Kay:
In the 3rd inning the Rays got 2 runners on, Jeter goes to the mound to talk to Hughes. Kay says, "That's the benefit of having Jeter in the field and not those replacement players, he has the gravitas to go talk to the pitcher." Next pitch Myers deposits into the left field stands.
Kay is silent.

good one....

Doesn't say where he is going? A's, O's and Red Sox seem like the destination.

Have to start winning games. Not the worst schedule in the world for August. Lots of games vs the Blue Jays.

Still very much in the chase for a WC spot

Wonder why one of the reasons the Yanks are in the position they are in?, One of the reasons is due to the squinty eye dumb asshole manager Girardi, he puts Lyle Overbay in to hit for Vernon Wells, with runners on, on a hunch, and yet it's Wells that has 2 HRs off of Peralta, while the graphic just said that Peralta is tougher on Lefthanded bats, just another reason to dump all the "brass" on this team.

Veteran Lester very sharp his past couple of starts might have influenced the Sox to throttle it back going after Peavy hard.

Matsui officially retires as a Yankee nearly a year after he officially retired?

>>>NEW YORK -- At approximately 11:15 a.m. ET on Sunday, Hideki Matsui signed a one-day contract with the Yankees. One hour and 40 minutes later, the former star outfielder announced his retirement.

Then, joined by Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, senior vice president and assistant GM Jean Afterman, and his parents, Masao and Saeko, and his brother, Matsui signed his retirement papers and was presented with a matted and framed No. 55 jersey.<<<

Then in standing tradition as they did when he won the WS MVP they tossed him out on the street for old times sake.

Girardi is wearing sun glasses today by the way, so much for the squinting.

Hafner is on the DL by the way, you need a new screen name. How about Adams?

He was so good like you suggest whey didn't the Spend Sox sign him in 2010 instead of Crawford and Gonzalez?

Looks like the Sox bats are waking up ...dunno if you can thank the Yankees for dropping a pair to the Rays and letting them sneak into 1st for the wake up call but thanks anyway...now keep tying up their pen in extras for the makeup game tomorrow...

Did it have something to do with Crawford's OBP? You haven't posted on that in a while, are you feeling nervous?
