Lame.
Surely a liberal of your superior intellectual calibre can do better.
Just keep telling yourself - you and the other Cool Kids of the Left you sooo need to align with are smarter than all those inbred redneck reichwing cracker teabagger conservatives.
Keep chanting softly to yourself.
You call me a "Liberal" as if it's a bad thing.
I take that as a compliment!

Have you seen this tidbit of info this morning?

Geraldo Rivera is considering running for NJ Senate on the Republican ticket?

Let's see. We have;

Caribou Barbie Palin
Bat Looney Bachmann
Insane John McCain
Magic Underpants Mitt
Crazy Carl Paladino

...and now we have Mr Al Capones Vault?

This isn't a political party, it's the next cast of "The Real World".

WAY TO GO GOP!

One must be careful with labels, I agree.

If you are identifying with being a "Liberal" in the original, classical sense, you & I would be brothers from different mothers.

However, the behavior you were exhibiting in your snarky little exchange with Go Blue Yourself that inspired me to post indicate you are not a "liberal" in the original, classical sense - you post like a modern "liberal" progressive, that cabal of modern socialist statists that support a Big Government nanny-state that is in fact completely anathema to most of the political ideals of Liberalism in its original, classical sense. New Dealers run amok.

Bad? Not necessarily. Grossly in error and leading the nation down a wrong path to fiscal and economic ruin? Yes.

So if I have misread you, apologies. If I read you about right, then we disagree. Welcome to America - where once we respected diversity of political views.

You seem to mistake me for a Republican, or someone who gives a rat's azz for such juvenile partisan tripe.

I am a Mugwump.

Troll for someone else who will answer you with lists of equally ridiculous Democrats - I'm sure you'll keep each other entertained for hundreds of posts. I have no interest.

You're mistaking my comedy act for "snarky". I'm giving you some classic stuff here & you're responding with four-syllable diatribes & self-righteous non-apologies. Pull that stick out your ass & laugh along. Trust me, your CONserVICT buddies won't see.

O'Reilly goes on and on about how the wealthy like him are taxed too much with too high tax rates, but what he does not tell you is the state level tax rate, which is much less for the wealthy than it is for the poor.

The poorest Americans are subject to a tax rate at the state and local level that is twice as high as the tax rate paid by the wealthiest earners thanks to unfair state tax laws, according to a new report from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy (ITEP). And Middle-class taxpayers also pay higher effective rates than the wealthy.

When state, local, property, and sales taxes are taken into account, the poorest 20 percent of Americans pay an average effective tax rate of 11.1 percent. The middle 20 percent pays a 9.4 percent rate, while the rate for the top 1 percent is just 5.6 percent. The lack of progressive income taxes and an over-reliance on consumption taxes are the primary culprit.

In the 10 most regressive states, the poorest 20 percent pay a rate as much as six times as high as the rate for the richest 1 percent. Four of those states (Washington, Texas, Florida, and South Dakota) have no income tax; one, Tennessee, has a limited income tax that only applies to dividends and interest. In these five states, half to two-thirds of revenue comes from sales and excise taxes, well above the national average of one-third.

Republicans (and O'Reilly) across the country are pushing tax plans that would replace income taxes (typically the only form of progressive taxation at the state leve) with sales taxes. Republicans in Nebraska, Kansas, North Carolina, and Louisiana have advanced such plans, even though their state tax systems are already regressive.

In Louisiana, the worst of the four, the poorest 20 percent pay 9.2 percent of their income in sales taxes, while the wealthiest 1 percent pay just 1.3 percent. Even in North Carolina, the best of the four, the poor pay six times as much of their income in sales taxes as the richest one percent. Shifting to a tax code that relies solely on sales taxes would make these states even worse.

And of course you never hear a word about any of this from O'Reilly, because he does not want you to know about it. He wants you to think the wealthy are paying far more than anyone, when in fact they pay less. And on the federal tax level most of the wealthy pay far less than the actual tax rate, because of all the loopholes and deductions they take advantage of, not to mention the CAP gains rate that is lower than the average working American tax rate.

Was this reported on Fox?

ORLANDO, Fla.ó The criminal trial of former Republican Party of Florida chair Jim Greer had promised to be embarrassing for party leaders, rising Republican star Marco Rubio and former Gov. Charlie Crist, who is contemplating a new political future as a Democrat.

But Greer's guilty pleas on Monday to four counts of theft and a single count of money laundering ended the trial before it even started and ensured that some state GOP secrets will remain confidential, at least for the time-being.

"There were a number of people who did not want this trial to go forward and the trial isn't going forward," Damon Chase, Greer's attorney, said after the former chair entered his pleas in court. "Once again, Jim Greer is falling on his sword for a lot of other folks."

Greer, 50, could face a prison sentence of 3 1/2 to 35 years when he is sentenced March 27. Assistant statewide prosecutor Michael Williams wouldn't say how many years prosecutors would seek.

The trial had threatened to expose the underbelly of Florida's dominant political party and its formerly high-spending ways. Party officials took heat three years ago from revelations of excessive spending at restaurants and luxury hotels on party-issued American Express cards by Republican leaders, including Rubio. Testimony about those expenditures had been expected at the trial.

Topics also covered in pretrial depositions included allegations of prostitutes at a state GOP fundraiser in the Bahamas, the drinking habits of Crist and intraparty strife. Some of Florida's most powerful politicians were scheduled as witnesses, including Crist, former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux, former Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum and several state House and state Senate leaders.

Greer's acknowledgment of guilt was what the party wanted all along, party attorney Stephen Dobson said, and they weren't worried about potentially embarrassing testimony at trial.

"There was absolutely no concern. In fact, a lot of people were looking forward to clearing a lot of these allegations that had been made up," Dobson said outside the courtroom. "Today the truth came out."
