Canadian Marcellus Gilmore Edson was the first to patent peanut butter, in 1884.

I don't think it is politically correct to equate Croatia with "some damn where"! Very insensitive of you.

Some in the Americas and Europe consider "Oriental" an antiquated, pejorative, and disparaging term. John Kuo Wei Tchen, director of the Asian/Pacific/American Studies Program and Institute at New York University, said the basic critique of the term developed in the 1970s. Tchen has said, "With the anti-war movement in the ’60s and early ’70s, many Asian Americans identified the term ‘'Oriental'’ with a Western process of racializing Asians as forever opposite ‘others’." In a press release related to legislation aimed at removing the term "oriental" from official documents of the State of New York, Governor David Paterson said, "The word ‘oriental’ does not describe ethnic origin, background or even race; in fact, it has deep and demeaning historical roots".

I love peanut butter and am grateful to Dr. Edson for inventing it! An invention that arguably had a greater impact on our society then most forms of poetry!

What a load of crap! First off, America was basically two nations, one agricultural (The South) and one industrial,(The north). The slaves and their owners were all in the south. The results of their labors all got worn or eaten. The industrial north produced machinery and things that produced more things and lasted. There isn't a single auto maker in the south. There isn't a single lathe, milling machine, jig borer, surface grinder, etc produced in the south! Not a single tractor or anything else was ever produced under slavery, you nitwit! Just Cotton , wheat and corn! In the sixty something years I've been alive, I've never met an ex slave. Slavery has been out of here since the days of the hoopskirt. Why even bring it up? Does it fufill a need" to be a good person" if you posture yourself as being against a long dead practice? Is it really that you just are so brainetically challenged that you couldn't think of anything semi intelligent to say? Oopa Nicolai, Kak strano!
My president was elected by dead people!

Could it be that the poor demonized "white males" had plenty of leisure time to advance culture and technology because they had colored slaves growing their food, building the infrastructure and doing other menial tasks???

Of course the white man benefitted from slaves which gave him the opportunity to create things like weapons that allowed him to subjugate even more poor people. The history of western civilization is filled with the crimes of the white man. I would suggest that our president should understand this and do something at lest about reparations to salve family survivors but I have no faith that he is strong or smart enough to actually tackle this injustice.

One-third of Americans classified as "white" in a study contained between two and twenty percent African genetic admixture, which can be extrapolated to about 74 million whites in America with this admixture.

Yes TERRY, you did post a very eloquent "load of crap!"

Had you thought things through you would have realized that the North would not have been as able to manufacture machinery etc because they would have had to divert their resources to produce food and clothing which was grown and made by slaves in the South.

Also, had you educated yourself on the issue of slavery before posting your diatribe, you would have known that there are more slaves in the world today then ever in human history.

If you drink chocolate or coffee, have carpets or anything made in India, or items made from Brazilian steel, etc, etc. chances are those items were grown, mined or manufactured by slaves.

Don't let your hatred for President OBAMA blind you to the world.

, George Washington Carver discovered three hundred uses for peanuts and hundreds more uses for soybeans, pecans and sweet potatoes. Among the listed items that he suggested to southern farmers to help them economically were his recipes and improvements to/for: adhesives, axle grease, bleach, buttermilk, chili sauce, fuel briquettes, ink, instant coffee, linoleum, mayonnaise, meat tenderizer, metal polish, paper, plastic, pavement, shaving cream, shoe polish, synthetic rubber, talcum powder and wood stain.

In 1980, under mounting pressure from the Japanese American Citizens League and redress organizations, President Jimmy Carter opened an investigation to determine whether the need to put Japanese Americans into internment camps had been justified by the government. He appointed the Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) to investigate the camps. The commission's report, titled “Personal Justice Denied,” found little evidence of Japanese disloyalty at the time and recommended the government pay reparations to the survivors. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed into law the Civil Liberties Act, which apologized for the internment on behalf of the U.S. government and authorized a payment of $20,000 to each individual camp survivor. The legislation admitted that government actions were based on "race prejudice, war hysteria, and a failure of political leadership". The U.S. government eventually disbursed more than $1.6 billion in reparations to 82,219 Japanese Americans who had been interned and their heirs.[

You my friend are a disease of humanity! You are an infection in the body politic of modern America but thankfully there is an antibiotic. Name calling with no logical reasoning behind it. I pointed out that this person is a hateful racist due to the ramblings of his post which was a public statement and very direct in expressing his opinion. I had a reason to conclude his position on a racial issue. Now he attacks me as a subhuman bacteria because I pointed out a fact that was clearly communicated by him.

If liberalism is a mental disorder the JD is a raving lunatic!!!
