They may have followed procedure however that procedure is seriously flawed and should be changed immediately. Seems like their entire policy structure should be revisited.

If this is considered 'appropriate' by the director of the VA's standards, something is wrong with this system. How do you justify a patient is cardiac distress and doctors who are there, only look on. The paramedics did the work on this man, not the doctors actually there. IF the doctors who were actually there, KNEW what they were doing, the patient might have lived or at least had a better chance for survival.
How do you justify this behavior? A conscience? A patients life?

If this is an example of how the VA treats those that enter its Medical Centers, it just shows how bad things really are within the VA. They obviously don't believe their own employees can handle such an important job as saving someones life.

Following what procedure ? Military DI procedure ?
kinda like
C'mon get up ya candyass and walk your sorry asz to sick bay ?

This was a freaking Hospital, not a drill field. I guess the hippocratic oath becomes moot when you walk through their doors.

The Secretary was guilty of following the crowd and not trying to reform anything.

Of course Maobama made a promise in 2008 and never did anything about it either - but then again - what's new with that line.
