As for the person who said something about a woman being turned away and not being allowed to even plug in oxygen--it is a fact that no one can be turned away from PMC, something about what they agreed when they first opened. Which is why the hospital gets stuck with some of the same patients, for months at a time...we are the only hospital from Lexington to here--and more around the vicninity of these areas--that cannot refuse to treat a patient.
As for the person who stated they give morphine to everyone that walks in with pain. Totally untrue, and I'm sure if we give it enough time someone will complain they were looked at as someone seeking drugs and could'nt get anything for pain. You can't please people..at all.
And for the band-aid station comment--come up with something a little more unique. People get tired of hearing that. PMC may not be the best in the world but many life-saving operations and procedures have been performed. Just get a tally on how many people are coded and rapid responsed in a month. Those people probably don't believe they are at a band-aid station.
Just to point out one thing... Pikeville is not the only hospital in the region who cannot refuse patients. Any accredited hospital is required to treat patients regardless of their ability to pay. This is in a KRS statute. Go to Highlands, Kings Daughters, ARH, or any other hospital and you will see the same sign saying they have to do it. So apparently you have heard the mantra so much you actually began believing it. Sorry for your loss (of rational thinking).

Businesses that are that good do not have to toot their own horn. First hospital I know of that has to advertise to get business. And when they advertise out right lies it shows how desperate they are for business. They belittle the people of this area thinking they will believe the lies. Waldo may get top treatment since he has his own private luxury sweet for himself, family, and friends free of charge, but he himself goes elswhere for other than band aid treatment.
