This MIGHT be why nobody actually lives in N. Dakota.

I hear it's great 5 months out of the year at least. My dad came from ND, I am basically the first generation born below what we refer to as the frost line. I recall our summer vacation to the old home place, seeing sage hens. Upon seeing a pure white rabbit in a field of dark green grass I asked my father if they don't change colors to match the season and dad said, son, they would but it doesn't stay green long enough to make it worth the effort. People up there are hardy souls. I know hard winters took their toll on my grandfather who never did the snowbird thing. Not being able to do whatever you wish to be doing takes a toll of many people who drink too much and smoke more because you only do what must be done and everything else waits for spring. I am going to move to ND to handle some property rights matters for my family middle to the end of april and hope to complete my business before the fall and snow flies again.
