What do you think about the media portrayal of nursing?

I am currently in nursing school, and while doing research I discovered the media, especially TV shows like Greys Anatomy, ER, Nurse Jackie, House, HawthoRNe, and Scrubs to name a few, do not portray nurses in a good light.
Some examples of the portrayals:
Greys Anatomy:nurses spend much of their shift flirting with other doctors and nurses
ER: often depicts physicians performing critical tasks that nurses generally do
What are your thoughts on this? Has anyone else noticed this trend?
