we should not fight with so called doctors[mbbs] for a prefix [dr.] let us work hard for the people and let them decide what is our importance in society.
and for mbbs people i want to clear that, they should do there job without interfering in our matter there are many cases where people die due to faulty medication ........
if u can add years to life then we physios add life to those years ..........

Either you have a comprehension issue or you are reluctant to accept the truth. Its nothing new vibes I get, out of your mental box. Your egotistic approach is vaporizing your cellular chemical signalling in neural synapses.

A huge round of applause for your philistinism. ""Did not your professor tell that a fella trained in surgery referred as doctor?""

Take me to him I want refund of all your educational expenses. You have not earned anyhting from education.

You spoke for the medicine practice but did not utter anything on the first statement of mine.

You are a stubborn kiddo who buys for his happiness kicking the rest of the world. Mother India is so sick of your kind of people.

India will remain deprive of what it can get, being in such hoggish hands.

Physiotherapists are technicians good in assessment of muscle strength and joint motion range. They cannot be relied upon to diagnose and treatment.Because they are technical people they should work under the guidance of a neuro specilist or bone specilist. Now we have even doctors who call physical medical specilist or physotrist as they study physiotherapy as their post graduate md . In short there is no basis for claim of physiotherapist s as separate specialty. They are technicians by all means. It is good news that in Kerala the IMA has succeeded in making the govt define the physiotherapist s within the legal framework. This should set A beacon for the rest of the states to follow. If not it willl trigger a bad trend for quackery to flourish with many other health related tecnicians claiming themselves as doctors. To all my physiotherapist friends who have been fooled by their association s to call themselves doctors I sincerely request them to come out of their illusory world and face the stark reality.Afterall physiotherapist s are an indispensable part of the medical team like other technicians.one should be sincere to ones profession and know and respect other professions rather than trying to masquerade as someone else.

See the fact is every genuine Physiotherapists are aware of whatever they are executing, as we all do have the same line of syllabus for the 1st year. Then it comes to each individual field.
Sometimes I have been through such exeperiences where our seniors (M.D., M.B.B.S.) might not be well aware of the situation.
Let's cut it short......AT THE END OF THE DAY WE PHYSIOS REHABILITATE THE PATIENT TO COME BACK TO ITS BEST NORMAL LIVING. WE SUPPORT THEM, ENCOURAGE THEM, CULTIVATE THEIR ENERGY IN A POSITIVE MANNER.
" We have 'HEALING HANDS' for all THESE."
We were taught that a Doctor should have
1. Ladies' Finger
2. Gental Grip
3. Healing & Confident Touch
these all make "Healing Hands".
I think now one should know that a Physiotherapist is also a 'Doctor', I believe its enough.
Thank you.

As i can see a lot of war of words is goin on because of the fact who is using the prefix Dr. but i would definitely like to ask those physicians that on what grounds do they use the prefix Dr. as prefix is mostly given or awarded to P.H.D. holders. Does that mean they have knowledge equivalent to P.H.D. holders without having a P.H.D.???? So first stop pretending what you r not, and talking about malpractice all physicians in India practice physiotherapy some or the other way by prescribing exercises or traction and many other physiotherapy modalities (othos do that often) so first talk about that other than fighting for a overhyped prefix.

Dear vinu,
Problem comes only when Non Qualified person (Say Physiotherapist) claims that he is a qualified person (say Doctor). If physiotherapist does his job without comparing with others, without putting any false claims, then i would have appreciated rather putting so many replies here.
For your kind information:- to manage pain and disability there are many doctors and other therapists (Other than physiotherapists) existing in India.
Even Rehabilitation Council of India (A statutory body under Govt. of India) itself creating a number of paramedicals like Rehabilitation therapists (RT's), Multi Rehabilitation therapists (MRTs), Speech therapists, Orthotists and Prosthetists, Community Based Rehabilitation workers etc to assist doctors to manage chronic disabled conditions. You can also verify their course duration also.
For physiotherapists in India, NOT A SINGLE STATUTORY BODY (NATIONAL COUNCIL OR BODY) existing today, how can you talk regarding course duration, course content or comparison with others.
Hope you understand.
