What is the mormal count of intestinal sounds??

Auscultating each quadrant until you hear a sound. They will usually be seconds apart. If you hear no sound you must auscultate for five minutes before documenting "no bowel sounds".

Normal bowel sounds are heard 5 to 35 times per minute. Hyperactive bowel sounds will be heard almost continuously. Hypoactive bowel sounds are relatively unusual. With normoactive bowel sounds, it should take 2 minutes or less to auscultate them.
