"I couldn't agree more about Michelle Pirkle. She is one of the most honest and sincere people I have ever met. When I went through orientation, she was the only one that made me want to be employed there. She is all about the patients and always finding a way to address everyone's concerns. They let a great person go and she will be missed by many."

That's where you and so many others are very wrong. She was one of the two-faced people who I am personally glad to see go. If you only knew half of the crap she stirred up and lied about, you wouldn't be singing her praises anymore.

Both hospitals failing is a result of failed management however, there is no doubt it’s in part to a creedy fat cat FOR sure but, I would bet you that Murray has had the same E.R.(nurse ) in charge for years. Do you think rolling any heads and getting fresh people in their crossed anybody’s minds… well of course not just leave it like it is same pisssss poor management. I'm sure the poor people of Murray County that have been treated like crap are ready for anything!

I don't understand why everyone in this town gets such a rush from bashing Hamilton. Shaw or Mohawk can close a whole plant and nobody bats an eyelash. But Hamilton lays off 31 people and suddenly they are 'evil.' This community is so fortunate to have a hospital like Hamilton. We should rally behind the hospital instead of kicking them while they're down.

If they was"nt so greedy , and refuses to take peoples insurance
then no one would be bashing them . All the other hospitls take
the health insurance . I am talking about a lot better hospitals
than Hamilton Medical Center ever was , or will ever be.
They caused all of this themselves. Maybe they will have to shut down, and the people that has insurance they take now will under stand why so many people are bashing them .

If they started investigating what goes on at Hamilton I know exactly what would happen. Nothing! It's the most corrupt system I've ever seen but there are to many important people suckling the teet.

My husband was just recently hospitalized on the third floor.I explained numerous times to the nurses over the last few days,he was a very brittle diabetic and the dose of insulin he was recieving was waayyyyy too agressive which was subtract 100 then divide by 40 to determine the amount of novalog (fast acting) insulin used to drop the blood sugar levels rapidly. They refused to listen to me (his wife of 22 years)and did it their way instead of what they were told by me and he had to suffer through a low blood sugar count of in the 20's night before last, and had a low blood sugar of in the 60's thursday night for the same reasons. My husband has a serious brain injury from low blood sugar which caused him to loose oxygen (hypoxia) 2 years ago.The low blood sugar counts are a great big deal to me.His primary care physician along with many other local doctors no longer practice at hamilton medical. When my husband is admitted as medical emergencies arise, and he is seen by the hospitalist on call, there are important decissions life and death decissions being made by a hospitialist who knows nothing about his complicated medical history. In an emergency wjere minutes count, people like my husband are at the mercies of these hospitalists. The county made a major screw up when they got greedy and sold our hospital!Thank God my husband is now back at home where I feel he is safer.

First lets take apart what you said. The nurse CANNOT change an order based on what YOU say. They must have a doctors order to do so. So im sure the nurse heard what you said and communicated to the doctor. Its up to the doctor to order the meds and any changes that go with it. I would hope that the doctor listened to what you said. As for the Hospitalist if you dont have a regular doctor or your doctor chooses not to go the th hospital to see you then you are stuck with seeing the Hospitalist. Sorry it is what it is. I also dont believe that the Hospital was sold by the county but someone with more knowledge during that time could comment better than I.

It is really sad when doctors fall from their oath to help people because of money. Listen, if you plan on becoming or are already a doctor for the money, then find another occupation.
