"What makes our health care workers, who know firsthand how deadly influenza can be, exempt from receiving a vaccination to eliminate the spread of deadly infection?" said Carmella Gutierrez, president of Californians for Patient Care.
Good question. Perhaps that healthcare workers question the effectiveness or safety of the flu shot? Perhaps the healthcare workers question the big pharma behind it? Perhaps they do not feel "exempt" but has considered risks and benefits and come to an intentional conclusion to not receive the immunization?

According to the CDC, influenza vaccine is 0 to 60% effective. Zero! Please do not give yourself a false sense of security that you are protected if you are vaccinated. The "everybody get vaccinated every year" policy was created after the federal government passed a law that made the pharmaceutical companies no longer legally liable for complications. This is a cash cow for big Pharma. So why not encourage it? Perhaps the money in this effort could be better spent to eliminate deaths from guns? Just my two cents.
