I don't believe that President Obama has achieved anything worthy of this honor as of yet. He has barely started his presidency. Nelson Mandela and others worked for years on peace, democracy and human rights. I can only hope that he can live up to receiving this so early.

I think it has to do with the fact the he is the first president of a different color. Thats the only thing I can think of because so far... he sucks!

The nomination two weeks into Obama's presidency was presumptuous. The award at this point in his presidency is premature and the acceptance by Mr. Obama is pure arrogance. The Nobel Peace Prize has been cheapened.

So they say its for what he did reduce nuclear arms. Why the F didnt Ronald Reagan win the Nobel Peace prize. He did way more than Obama will ever be able to do. Did they forget what Reagan did for the fall of the Berlin wall too? Absolutely ridiculous

Why is this space even here. The Nobel Peace Prize is not a public opinion poll, it is an award given by an individual through a trust fund. They obviously felt he deserved it and that is all that matters. It is none of my business or anyone elses as to rather he deserves it or not.

I am sick of public polls every time the president farts wrong. Our media needs to get a life and quit giving repot cards befoe there is anything to report

The man has a vision of this country something which has been lacking for quite some time. We have been so focused on trying to put a boot in some other countries a$$ that most of us are forgetting that we, the USA should be a world leader in striving in more peaceful solutions. We can either beat the mule to the water or lead it with a carrot. The second gets a lot fewer of our service men and women killed overseas.

oh & yes I do agree with OKcowboy!

...also, & everyone knows its much easier to get all hyped up about War & Religion. Rather than Peace on Earth, Peace in General.... Peace doesn't make money like War! or even something that will benifit everyone like Health Care!
