David Irving was right about one thing. In 1989, he said in a speech in Germany that the gas chamber in the main camp at Auschwitz was a reconstruction that was done after World War II. For this, he was arrested by the German authorities and convicted as a Holocaust denier. He was ordered to pay a hefty fine.

In 1995, the director of the Memorial Site at Auschwitz finally admitted that the gas chamber in the main camp is, in fact, a reconstruction, although the tour guides continued to pass the gas chamber off as original until just a couple of years ago. Now that there is a large sign outside this gas chamber, showing exactly how the room was reconstructed, you would think that Irving's conviction would be overturned. But no! He is still called a criminal and a vile Holocaust denier. Makes you wonder if maybe Irving is right about other aspects of World War II history.

David Irving is not a Holocaust denier. Never has been and probably never will be.

Anyone critical of the "official" history of the Holocaust is labelled a "denier" in an attempt to smear. As is the case with this article.

Are the curators of Auschwitz-Birkenau deniers? After all, they reduced their own, accepted figures from 4 million dead (at Auschwitz) down to 1.5 million in 1997.

A government paid anti-revisionist regular historian says the 6 million number is an exaggeration.

'The total number of victims probably is around 4 million', Anders Otte Stensager says.

Now is that 'holocaust denial'?

But one could go to jail for up to 5 years in Germany for such a statement. And lately the Germans have been trying to lay their hands on people who said similar things outside their own jurisdiction!

Now who's the criminal?

When did it become anathama for an historian to demand proof of historical claims and dig for new insights? Isn't that the job after all?

"Initially we wanted to expose Irving as a liar and swindler, but then the issue became a question of free speech," said Randi Skeie, the head of the festival. "Everything is fine as long as everyone agrees, but things get more difficult when one doesn't like the views being put forward."
This is the most contorted logic I have ever read.
Is free speech and free inquiry totally dead in Norway?

The Denial of the Holocaust and other Dangerous Lies, Smears and Slanders :

Hitler reached power using the tools of Democracy.

There were huge votations for Adolf Hitler in Germany before he was appointed as German Chancellor by Marshall Paul von Hindenburg 1847-1934.

On the evening of January 30 of 1933, just about every member of the SA and SS turned out in uniform to celebrate the new Führer-Chancellor, Adolf Hitler, just named during the day by Hindenburg.

What I want to point out is that Hitler used the "Tools of Democracy" and that he persuaded millions of Germans without using violence on them, just votes.

What Hitler, Goebbels and the Nazis used was sheer IGNORANCE, IMBECILITY and STUPIDITY of the masses.

In Hitler's Table Talk and other written reports we see how Hitler despised the masses, and how he considered them to be stupid, lazy, passive, subdued, etc...... Hitler always referred to the masses with contempt as being "feminine".

So the means to reach power by the Nazis were not always violent and they used very effectively the tools of Democracy, like the voting urns. The Junkers, the Military Aristocracy, and the Rich Industrials, didn't fall in Hitler's claws just by terror or violence. They were persuaded in rich and plush salons, while being served the best liquors on silver trays.

That is why slanders and lies are so dangerous in any political campaign in any country, and America is no exception.

“That is why slanders and lies are so dangerous in any political campaign in any country, and America is no exception.”
Except in America, unlike Germany, you have to prove the slander in a court of law before you can jail someone.
