I notice nobody's named Minneapolis as a good city for pedestrians. Not surprising, since bicycles rarely obey any traffic laws at all, and even yell at pedestrians to get out of the way when the bicyclist is riding illegally. This morning on a mile-and-a-half walk through downtown I saw 13 bicyclists, and not a single one managed to ride legally during the brief time they were in my sight.

Guess it's because we don't just run them down and flatten them when they disobey traffic signals, stop signs, and cut you off.

Look, let's get it right. Bikers ride motorcycles. Bicyclists ride bicycles. It's a small thing I suppose, but as a former real biker it kinda rubs me the wrong way.

I think this is great, and I hope the cities continue to build up bicycle infrastructure. Biking contributes to a healthier environment and population - and it's just really nice to bike along the paths we have. I'd love to see some bike boulevards like they've got in Portland, and a bridge over the river to connect the Greenway to St. Paul.

Actually they get flattened all the time... all those white bikes chained to poles are cyclists that died

good, and unsurprising. I'm always struck by how few people I see on bikes in other American cities. Minneapolis/St. Paul's cycle culture is very strong, and it adds positively to the character of the cities.

Also, I can get anywhere within the city of Minneapolis on my bike in 10-30 minutes - only a smidge slower than taking my car, and *way* faster than the bus.
