Freedom of speech prevails

Religion is a belief, we should be allowed to question and criticise something we may or may not believe in.

A victory for common sense.

I just can not comprehend behind this logic 'Dutch anti-islam lawmaker acquitted of hate speece'.
Geert Wilders never insulted on swore at any religion or religious group.
Since when communism, KKK, islam, fascism have become bastions of democracy or humanity, by the way all these ideals are violence and terror based.

Has anybody ever heard some one taken to court for insulting Christianity? The whole episode of this tragic court case ended with the triumph of logic and reason over pc cowards. The whole court case was a theater of the absurd. Even the prosecutor didn't want to charge him on anything. Now some muslims wants to take the matter to the European court where they will smear their ugly names for good. Wilders don't want any more mosques and so don't we. Most Europeans want to stop this agressive islamization of Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand. And that was what Wilders ever wanted. If western governments dare to give a refferundum about islam they would realise how much the populace hates it.

Congratulation Geert Wilders!!!

I agree with you because Freedom of Speech is sacred. But the irony lies in the fact that if Geert Wilders were to get his way, than he'd be pushing for the censorship of anything Islam by wanting his ban on the Quran. Sounds hypocritical to me!

Nothing hypocritical banning cults or political parties which promote hatred and death.

Hitler's book Meinkampf is forbiden as a hate book in Europe. According to Wilders (PBUH)if Meinkampf is forbiden as a hate book the Koran has to be forbiden as well because it preaches much more hate than any. He (PBUH) said if you take all bad texsts out of the Koran it will be as small as a Donald Duck book.

In a way, yes. In fact, in the Netherlands itself. Never heard of Gerard Reve?(It is known as "het Ezelsproces")

In Poland there have been several cases, such as those of Dorota Nieznalska, Gorgoroth, Adam Darski, and Dorota Rabczewska.

As late as 1977 several people were found guilty of "a blasphemous libel concerning the Christian religion, namely an obscene poem and illustration vilifying Christ in his life and in his crucifixion" (fines + suspended sentence)

Mein Kampf is not forbidden in Europe, with the exception of Austria (that's right, even in Germany or the Netherlands, owning a copy of Mein Kampf is NOT forbidden).

Of course, the hypocrisy of Wilders is very clear in this aspect: he wanted to ban the koran, but calls it a victory of freedom of speech that he can say whatever he wants about islam. If only he were consistent...

Isnt it amazing what islam can get away with by selling it as a "religion."

Begs the question.....

Is islam ignorant or the people allowing them to get away with murder?

Ohhh but the difference of what one small word can mean.....

And while they're @ the bookstore...pick up a DSM and compare it to the quran.

The sociopathic tendencies are stunning.
