More lack of effort and total lack of skill on the ice last night. They looked like ECHL players last night, honestly looked PATHETIC. This is going to be a really bad hockey team this year and it is really sad this great city has to put up with these punk players who wont make an effort under a professional contract. We pay them millions to put out this lack of effort and lack of heart. Sickening. And Umberger finds a need to flap his big pie hole!!! What a WASTE OF OUR MONEY!!!!! We wont be buying tickets. PATHETIC HOCKEY!!!!

Quite frankly I thought it was a pretty good pre-season game. Particularly with a new coach and system. There could have certainly been some sharper passes and a number were off the mark but not unreasonable for a pre-season game with differing levels of experience and familiarity.

If this is how the team looks in December there would be reason for concern--heck maybe even mid-November. There were at least a couple of goals that they would want back but you are not going to shut out every team. The team played hard and kept in interesting all the way. They fought back in the second and then again at the very end of the third. Happy to see it.

(Now, the bonehead move of the game, imho--Rusty trying to mix it up given his history and just getting back. I hope someone had a little conversation with him after. We need him to be physical but let's get a good test run on everything first.)

It's preseason! Half of the starters defensively weren't playing last night. Mason didn't play last night. Nash, Voracek, and Filatov all didn't play last night. Chill guys.
