I think they are talking out the side of their mouths on this one. The Western Conference is so tight, there are few clear cut buyers or sellers at the 2/28 trade deadline. I agree that standing pat is a good move, but not for any phony "chemistry" reasons. This isn't the year to mortgage draft picks and juggle contracts for a shot at one-and-done in the playoffs. If we hang on and make the posteseason, they will have to catch lightning in a bottle like Edmonton did in 07 or even our own Wild did in 03.

Adding a mid-tier centerman and giving up a pick would not be a good move. This team needs all the young talent it can stock up in the system, and the drafts have been pretty weak the last....9 years or so. Hopefully the new regime can change this.

If there wasn't the ridiculous 1 point per OT loss system right now, this team would be far out of contention. It makes for exciting regular season playoff races, but the good teams will separate themselves when it matters. We need good drafts, smart contracts, as we rebuild, much like Chicago and Pittsburgh over the last few years.

Too bad the Wild could not have gotten Erik Johnson on the blueline. I still like the idea of getting Vanek, Kessel, Wheeler or big Dusty Byfuglin back home in a Wild sweater.

"We've got a team that can win; I think they've proven that."

Huh? Did I miss a game?? When did that happen?
