7.4 million for 9 goals and 21 assists if he plays all 82 games....and this would be considered a bounce back year!!!
WTF....
If you want a laugh and then a big cry....read this.
Its not that the writer is wrong with his stats the reality most of this is true and its for that reason that this useless smurf gets sent down or released.....
Even paying him out wont hurt us...were already paying someone down on the farm and there is a 99.9 poercent chance that guy will play more, get more points and be bigger....
End the pain....

Gomez is a confusing player, because everything about the year before pointed to a bounce back season. Clearly he was derailed a bit by injuries, but that huge drop when he came back from his second injury is a scary looking thing. Gomez's game has always been defined by possession, if he can't do that anymore, he's not of much use. That said, the team was clearly much better with him in the lineup than when he was out of it. Every high point in the season came with Gomez on the ice, not in the pressbox.

I wouldnt neccessarily say on the "ice"...but I can live with on the bench.
His stats are not worthy of his contract....of a matter of fact his stats in NJ wasnt worthy of such a contract and Lou got rid of him.

Gomez is the cancer on this team followed by gionta, kaberle and if Price doesnt wake up and realize that hes not playing for the leafs...then he may be next!!

This team is going know where until the midgets, kaberle are gone and we get two new center man over 6'2....

These players may have use on other teams...but not Montreal...Montreal problem is they have to many soft players....Oh they got guys 6'2 and bigger...but there soft....Prust will bring some toughness to this team, but hes know Chris Neil.

Until mangement changes the lines....were F*cked

All though I am from Ontario....Im no Leaf fan. They like us suffer from bad management, meaningless promises.

Two of the greatest franchise ever...Its a know fact that canadian teams provide a riduculous amount of revenue for the NHL..
Toronto has its faithful and thats for sure....Montreal the same...

I hear what your saying about Price and I completely respect your views on him.
I can only hope that he pulls his head out of his as*, and takes it to the next level...The next level is far off....He just hasnt reached it yet.

Its so freakin frustrating some of the goals that he lets in. Saying that he has nights that are great...but like Dev says there not great like Halak had in that play off run...

Its not a matter of him winning games or stealing games for this team!! Its about just stopping the puck, especially the real easyones. The funny thing is he doesnt let in to many tough shots....He just seems to let in basic or for lack of words easy shots that he should stop on a nightly basis.

You said it last year...He needs a good goalie coach to help him out.

I think he makes the big save, then thinks he is the man and while he is dreaming about his accomplishments he lets in a stinker.. Little shits like rian kiss his azz on a regular basis, which makes him think he is even better than he is.. Consentration for the full sixty minutes would certainly help.. that being said he is not a winner.. he does not have the burning desire to ever be one.. he seems happy to stop a few pucks, ride a few bulls and get some lip service from guys like rian the anti canadian

Look you anti canadian piece of cow dung,Price is overrated and just not a winning goaltender. You have to accept this in order to move on.now grow up and stand up for your country instead of trying to tear it down.

Gomez is the biggest Bum that loser Gainey gave to Hab Nots fans, thanks to this loser, we have little cap room, and nobody wants to go to Montreal anyways Habs gave the NY Rangers lots of cap relief to sign Gaborik , Richards and now Nash, and idiot Montreal gave Ryan MacDonagh to Rangers as well No wonder Montreal stinks.

Gomez is a bum and so is price. It is going to take a lot of years to overcome the mistakes of past management. Patience is needed, but highly unlikely.Where is Halak ???

oh and of curse, knowing you gave Price 7.5 million to sit out this season and then stick around for the next 6 at least just warms my heart !!!

Maybe by then he'll have learned about his dick falling off and having been replaced by a Vagina?

Well, once can hope.
