Sakic isn't going to be on that team (or at least he shouldn't). He's not healthy, is older and slower and there are so many better younger players who are more deserving. Savard is one of the league's best playmakers. No matter where he plays, he makes every player around him better. Plus his game style fits into international play really well.

I also question placing him on the roster, but as the decision-makers are indicating the same approach was taken in Salt Lake when Mario and Stevie Y were invited, despite their nagging injuries at the time, due to their leadership and status in the game.

I am 40-years-old, and compete in men's league hockey after playing junior. I can skate faster backwards than you could going forward, and I would put money on that. I know about the game and its nuances unlike your rah-rah,'I'm a puck bunny' mentality. In fact, I chatted with Zack Stortini today about the playoffs when I ran into him at a local mall. He didn't ask about you.
The reason I have followed this board since last July (previously under GoOilers) is to keep tabs on the contract situation with Bouwmeester as I know some of his family members from here in my neighbourhood.

I don't agree it's likely Jokinen will be traded. Trades mean two teams are involved. Even if Calgary wants to trade him they aren't just going to give him away for nothing. And potential trade partners, even ones like Montreal who badly need a first/second line center, will surely be hesitant to give up any assets for Jokinen.

But in all honesty why are you even talking about Jokinen? He is long gone, two teams removed from the Panthers now. His performance doesn't have anything to do with Florida. And to think he's the main reason the Flames went out so quickly is just wrong. Do you have any idea of Calgary's injury situation?
