" If the Islanders have to break glass in case of an emergency with goaltender Rick DiPietro's balky left knee, " You think there is a prayer Zipay started his Cablevision-Newsday-Ranger sales article article writing this about Gaborik who has been even more injured than DiPietro with HIP surgeries. Such double-standards in coverage.

Just what we need a 40 something year old goalie to go along with rickey and 2 high picks for goalies.Maybe if garth gets all the goalies in the league we can win by default.I don't get it 40 years old garth with all the money they pay you to screw things up why don't you be the backup goalie / gm save wang some more money this is getting more stupid by the minute. All the other teams get younger tougher we get a nother goalie where's Billy Smith lets bring him back too .Maybe it is time to quit supporting this mess.

When DP does..he is still average

Busey, Gaborik won't be on the rags next year at this time, so give it a rest with all your Kansas City crap and your gaborik is better than diPi crap. Gaborik had HIP SURGERY, he is just as, if not more of a liability than ricky is. 7.5 million for 5 years, GOOD LUCK unloading that next year!

Slim picking for remaining FA. Wouldn't mind Garth signing the 2 or 3 of the following players. RW- Nik Antropov (Rangers) RW - Jason Williams (Columbus) LW - Alex Tanguay (Montreal) D - Dennis Seidenberg (Carolina) D - Jordan Leopold (Florida) D - Dmitri Kalinin (Phoenix) Any thoughts?

Four million a year is a bargain for a goalie. The DP deal has no bearing on free agents. Professional atheletes get hurt in all sports. The Islanders insured the contract, so if DP does not come back he gets paid and the Isles are unaffected. The building does affect their ability to lure free agents. Shortly, this problem will be remedied. The stench of Milbury will soon be a distant memory be patient.
