agreed... they are both VERY injury prone.
Problem is Gaborik will actually play next year.
And when he does, he is a top 10 player in the league.
When DP does..he is still average

Four million a year is a bargain for a goalie. The DP deal has no bearing on free agents. Professional atheletes get hurt in all sports. The Islanders insured the contract, so if DP does not come back he gets paid and the Isles are unaffected. The building does affect their ability to lure free agents. Shortly, this problem will be remedied. The stench of Milbury will soon be a distant memory be patient.
