Sit Mason

It's time for Mason to sit and realize he is the #2 goaltender. Goaltenders are easily replaced and Garon has been consistent and needs to be the starter and give the CBJ a chance to win every night.

Mason's lost his confidence, that much is sure but he should have never been put in the position of franchise goalie in the first place, it's just way too much pressure without the legs to carry it.

Mason should 'discover' an injury and go back down to minors for some rebuilding, and let some other kid (say a La Costa or such) have his back-up spot while Garon muddles thru (all respect to Garon.)

Mason was good when he didn't carry it all. I'd say he trives in such a competitive environment by first season play. Unfortunately, his play is now affecting everyone else, and is contributing to the spiral.

Also third sweaters need to go. Doesn't feel like us imho. Sorry for those who bought into them ahead of time, but they are derivative and artifical. Not going to mention the mascot *face-palm*

Welcome back Juice!!

Lose or win,
All love to Ohio and the Jackets.

Don't do anything. Let the rookies and prospects come along slowly and if it does not work then start over. It may take until the 20th year for a playoff win but I am sure the paying customer understands. Howson knows exactly what he is doing and he is a genious waiting for the right move.

I'm not down on the team or the coach or the direction at all. I'm definitely down on Mase. He looks uncomfortable, does not seem confident, and can't control rebounds. I'm all for Matty getting the bulk of the work while Mason searches for the answer.

Make them a NHL team and demote the CBJ to a minor league team.

Indeed, Mason is part of the problem and needs to improve, but he's not the only culprit. Our defense corps is slow and plodding. On Omark's goal, he shot a soft dump-in, only to split both defensemen untouched and bury Mason's ample rebound. The Jackets have to upgrade their blueline or they're going to continue to get victimized in the transition game, as well as down low against quick puck movement.

On the upside, that was a beautiful touch pass by Umberger!

I have liked Garon all season. Arniel, if you or a staff member is reading this - go for the playoffs with Garon. Mason will get over it.

Interesting thing I've noticed, there are usually 5 to 7 posts on a Jackets article when the team was playing well.

Hit a rough stretch, and there are over 30 posts bitching and whining.

Most of these people here wouldn't know a puck from a duck,

The rookie year was a fluke, the NHL is no place to work out of a slump treat him like a man and no more coddling of this mental midget, on the plus side I sure like buying lower bowl tickets for $15 from desperate scalpers.

In Mason's defense, he's not seeing much of it in front of him. The failure to block out opponents, cut off passes, block shots, and clear the zone is becoming embarrassing. Too often things start to head up-ice and then suddenly you see the puck kept in, a pass made, a goal scored, and Jackets standing around stupefied.

'How'd they DO that! We were trying to clear it!'

WILL THE EXCUSES NEVER END? He is a below average goalie on a very very average team!
