Pondering a veteran starter in Minnesota?

Jun 13, 2011 Full story: ESPN 23

Did we take an inordinate leap of faith recently when we discussed Christian Ponder 's seemingly inevitable status as the Minnesota Vikings ' 2011 starting quarterback? Lockout or not, I've thought the Vikings would do everything they could to get Ponder on the field immediately.

Sid has a great deal of insentive to build a stadium in downtown all financial. Look back to the building of the Metrodome a stadium out of date before the doors opened. Major supporter Sid. Why financial considerations. Now he has another hand to pad his son.No consideration of the guy paying the bill, no consideration of the total impact for the people of Minnesota only for his sports empier.Minnesota will not become a dust bowl as he reported "if the Stars move",we would have no chance of another franshise he continued. No dust bowl and a new franshise.

Ponder starts from day 1. We don't have the money for a veteran starting qb.

Maybe...but I'll bet Washington won't release him and go with Beck (who?). The only way McNabb gets released is if Washington signs Kolb or someone like him.

Supplemental draft is coming up...maybe the Vikes will take Richard Pryor in the first round from OSU and forfeit their first round pick next draft.........that would be very Viking like, then there will be no need to sign a veteran QB.

erie, I want the Vikings to have the greatest of all time on the team but not comedian. Richard Pryor is the greatest comedian of all time I think you mean Terrell Pryor.

Everybody in the forum was aware that you did not have a clue about football or politics. Now we are aware that you also know nothing about comedy! But in fairness nobody accused you of having a sense of humor.

Just stick to drinking protein drinks, it's what you do best!

Just what the Vikes need, another rookie QB. The thought is comedy in its self

Avant.........that was a sarcasm, but then you knew that......Ponderfarts, your comment was somewhat funny.

Magz..........well....what can I say except that maybe McNabb woild be okay. He seems to have a chip and wants to play badly, redeem his uncharacteristic year last season.........never has thrown int's like that. But in the WCO he needs to be accurate with his short throws...not his forte. Throws an unbelievable deep ball but the prob. is the Vikes HAVE NOONE TO STRETCH THE FIELD! Stay tuned Vike fans, it is almost here.

Yes, plug in a QB like McNabb we could be dangerous but if I were McNabb I'm still trying to make the hall of fame. 3 more pre last year years should do it. Vikings have their QB.

McNabb would be better off in arizona or san francisco.

Or McNabb needs a Superbowl for the hall of fame.

Christian Ponder will be trying a new approach to draw opposing defenses offside for penalties.
A few of his offensive linemen will fart just before the ball is snapped at the line of scrimmage.

I expect that Ponder will get a better grip on the pigskin when he rubs the brown fart stains on the center's a-ss.

Avant he is a shoe in for the Hall

Q is is does he have a chip so big that he wants to prove every 1 that he can still play.

Ponder is our guy.........Kolb would be perfect in this scheme.

Will Philly let Kolb go?

Kolb has won 7 games & lost 7 games I Dont find Kolb much better then Jackson & We all seen what the Fans thought about Jackson as the starter. I Cant see why so many people think Kolb is this starting QB When its clear looking at his win lost record 50% That he isnt. I think the Vikes have had enough Tarvaris Jackson type QB's . Ponder's chances of winning Cant be any worse then Kolbs. Go Vikings

Kolb had the eagles job and he choked it away. We don't need that.

We have Adrian Peterson the 3rd best player in the NFL. He is why Ponder wants to start. Still say Ponder starts day 1.

Is Ponder's starting why you predict a 3 to 5 win season? If so, why not obtain a veteran QB?
