I like Peterson But if AD isnt putting up the numbers that Johnson is You cant say he is best running back. AD is doing pretty good Considering the VIKES front line cant open any holes or throw a block.>>> GO VIKINGS
Couldn't agree more. RIGHT NOW, CJ is the better back, but IMHO he has the better o-line, more carries, etc. But just looking at stats, he's better than AP. That could all change this year if Chilly will let him run more in the 2nd half. They are both beasts(CJ and AP) and easily the best 2 RB's in the league.

Enough already, it's over this is a non discussion.....Chris Johnson is the better more productive back. There is no debate the stats speak for themselves. AP needs to focus on what he can do to win games and not worry about what Chris Johnson is doing. They are two different style of runners in two different schemes. It's like comparing apples to oranges.
Bingo.

If Peterson wants to be called the better back, he needs to do two things:

- Beat Johnson's yards per carry average
- Commit fewer turnovers

One argument in Peterson's favor: I think Johnson clearly had the better run blockers last year. It may well be that Peterson is every bit as good, but he should at least take care of the one thing he can't blame on the line (the fumbles) before he starts spouting off about being any better than Johnson.

Honestly, I can think of 30 other teams that would be thrilled to have either one. If Peterson goes down as the second best back of the next 5+ years behind Johnson, I'll be pretty happy with that.

Statistics say Johnson is a better back. However, the only way to prove who the best back is to have them running behind the same O-Line.

Hey Debbie Downer, have you ever listened to AP? Ever read up on how many things he does in the community? There are many "thugs" in the NFL, AP is not one of them.
