Smart money says Peterson is better. Why, because we need to remember who the Vikings are. We were and are a run team that got a great QB in Brett Favre last year. However, we brought in Brett to mange the offense and keep them on track if things got sticky. Last year Brett was utterly amazing and did unfathomable things and exceeded expectations. The point this year is to be understanding that we need Brett to mange the games and " FEED the Beast AD" and realize we shouldn't nor expect Brett to replicate what he did last year. AD any day over Johnson but he needs the carries to do his work. Vikings fans as well as NFL fans know that AD's work came after carries and carries of punishing work not just a handful of opportunities where greatness was expected. He works you and works you then he pummels you when you are tired and finished getting hammered. Peterson's "fumbling issue" is probably more a result of his lessoning work load with the same production outcome expectation which leads him to push more then needed because he might not "eat again" because now we are a "passing team". Solution run AD and let Brett manage instead of pretending that they are responsible soley for the result.

Don't worry I am sure that A.P. will some have the lead in the fumble stat and the fumble - balls lost to the other team stat. Where Chester when you need
him.
This Cook guy had better be good.

C'mon just give the ball to AP 25 times and see what happens. 6 carries in the 2nd half is a joke.

AP thinks he's the best all around back because of HIS PASS BLOCKING? Am I missing something? Isn't he that back that is taken OFF the field in obvious passing downs because he cannot block?! By his own standards, AP isn't the best all around back...

Lets see Johnson back up last years stats before it even a race. I dont see Johnson having the same long career as AP and as far as AP not getting the ball as much its a good thing long term.. but to not pound the ball with him when the defense is looking ready to crack(like against the saints) is just poor play calling.

Enough already, it's over this is a non discussion.....Chris Johnson is the better more productive back. There is no debate the stats speak for themselves. AP needs to focus on what he can do to win games and not worry about what Chris Johnson is doing. They are two different style of runners in two different schemes. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

Peterson is not even in the conversation until he gets his ball security issues fixed, IMO. What good is it, if struggling for an extra couple of yards per carry to pad his precious stats, he gets the ball stripped by 2 angry LB's? This talk of individual ranking is unseemly in a sport where you've got a roster of 53 guys trying (we hope) to win a Lombardi trophy. The Vikes need to muzzle this kind of talk, period. If the team wins big, his stats and ranking will take care of themselves. If the team struggles, his stats won't mean anything (except he'll command a bigger contract from us).

Stop the fumbling, become a complete back (that means blocking, BTW), and shut your mouth until you've proven yourself a champion.

yeah, i'd vote for ad..

if the question is 'who's the better fumbler..".

gimme a break.. cj is wayyyyyyyy better.

actually, my vote is for #14 mark.. he's 100% right... stfu, ad, play the game..quit with your 'guarantees', quit fumbling, learn to block, learn to hit the holes better like cj and rub your rabbit's foot at night in hopes that that inept coach of yours gets canned.. he certainly couldn't design a run play if bill walsh held his hand...

Maybe the O-line and fullback should watch the Huston & Indy game that is how you run a KAO!
