MINNESOTA VIKINGS: QB Gus Frerotte signs, will back up Tarvaris...

We got rid of one bum, so we could pick up another one? Why not keep Holcomb? Like he's any worse than Gus. So basically, the situation is the same as last year.
OK. That's fine. TJack will be fine. He has a reciever and we'll be fine. right?. |
For me, this is good news. GFree can mentor and step in to play if necesary. He will help keep TJack focused as he did for Pep. One less worry.

Well, I've never seen him throw a jump pass so maybe he can help break TJack of that habit?
The thing that scares me is the Packers had him in for a tryout and considered him washed up. The 3 games he played in last year with the Rams were all loses which kind of bears that out. Let's hope TJack stays helathy and we don't need to actually use him as a player. |

Ok, now that the team has signed their #2 QB that leaves only the most important signing left, the signing of the #1 QB. I give the team credit for trying to improve the roster but history has shown that a team will only get as far as its starting QB can carry it. Hopefully, I am wrong but, I just can't see T-Joke taking this team to the next level. With all of T-Jokes weaknesses, we might be seeing a lot more of Gus than we can take. Hopefully, the team will draft its future QB with the 17th pick.

How do you know the Pack thought he was washed up? They could have made him an offer for all we know, and he chose the Vikes over them? The rams also didn't have anywhere near the talent that our offensive line has. I hope that he can at least put a little fear in TJack that if he continues to make mistakes he will lose his starting job, which is something TJack didn't have to worry about last year. I'd take Frerotte over Holcomb anyday. |
Yeah, Holcomb is worse than Gus. I am glad that Gus is back to the Vikes. I think that he can help TJ a lot and can step in to play just like that. |

I guess We as Viking Fans won;t see a Tommy Kramer reunion!!

Speaking as a Rams fan ... I'm glad Gus is a Viking. He was brutal.

Justice - while I am in agreement with you that I have no love for TJ. He is going to be the starter for this coming season. I think the best thing for the Vikings to do is look for 2-DE, 2-OL, 1-C, 1-WR and then a QB. Here is my thinking. If we can't stop a team, the odds of us outscoring all competitors is very slim (defense wins championships). If we cannot block, we cannot pass or run (dead in the water). If we have an injury to our starting corp of WRs, were right back where we started at the beginning of free agency this year. All that said, there are many more holes to fill before we get a new QB. |
Two Minute Tommy is probably still better than anything we have now! I am ready for that reunion Dave.

You sure as hell got that right, "REALISTIC". If Brian Brohm falls to 17 in the draft, which I doubt but hope, I hope to hell they grab him. Then HE can be #3, and they can $h!t-can Bollinger. THAT would cause enough of the "competition" that Childress loves so much.(unless that only applies to everyone BUT TJax) There's plenty of quality defensive players projected to be in the second round, I believe. |

Here you go "fans"!!!! This will take your team to the SuperBowl...hahahahahaahaha
Here you go again "Realistic" - btw, ironic screen name - thinking any sane person would pick the queens over the Pack. Your team takes cast offs or high buck player off of other teams, Randy Moss excluded. But I am a little concerned for your O line... Seriously, who is a player the Vikings developed in recent history? OR one who has stayed with them? |

So nice to see BF leave the league the same way he came in.... Quack, quack, quack, picked off! Maybe the crybaby in-bred just wanted some attention and plans to come back after the tears have dried. Girl. Good luck in the next decade or so either way, as a friend of mine from the dark state said, and I think this applies either way, "THE '80's PACK IS BACK!!!!!!!!!" Maybe a good part of the 70's too....

Who is your starting quarterback? Homer Rodgers Who is your second string quarterback? Homer...Simpson? Rodgers will have more success explaining nuclear physics to eric than he will on the football field this year. |
Are you lost little girl? Remember, don't accept a ride from a stranger, and around here, the packer fans are stranger than ever. |
homer...."Doubt"...d on`t be upset because we won`t let you wear a viking jersey..

Wait and see if there's a decent QB left in the 2nd or 3rd round and develop that guy...preferably under the mentorship of a veteran for a few years - which is the way you're SUPPOSED to do it!!
As opposed to throwing a raw 2nd-year rookie into a starting NFL quarterbacking gig, and then making him read the negative crap from all you highly trained armchair athletes. |
If Tarvaris is on here reading this, then he doesn't deserve the starting role. |
