Maualuga benefited from playing on an awesome 2008 USC defense. He would not have even come close to the success Laurinaitis had if he had played at Ohio State. Spag evaluated them over their total playing time at their schools.

USC plays in a weak conference and the LB's at USC basicly have an easy time. Now in the SEC its lights out on defense. Overrated comes to mind. NFL coaches know it all to well. All the defensive talent early on was the SEC and Big-10. Look it up. Overrated. Laurinaitis is fundamentally the better LBer. and that is fact. NFL took several over Ray and for good reason. Ray did not fair well on his Wonderlic. Laurinaitis scored a 31. OMG. Ray got 12. Smart and athletic.

Why is there even a question to weather or not laurinaitis can play, or if he's the best linebacker coming into the draft, look at the stats people!, i mean that is what you sports "experts" do right. so do your job, then you'll learn who the best linebacker really is.
