Oakland Raiders refusing to light a fire under JaMarcus Russell

JaMarcus Russell had another day of struggles on Sunday, but there has been "no consideration" of the former top pick being benched.

The Oakland Raiders will never get back to the glory days of the past unless players start taking responsibility for their own actions. The reason is because they pay football with no HEART and only with their need for money.
The Raider Fans have shown nothing but HEART for Seven long seasons with nothing to show for. The Raiders organization owes it to their fans for putting up with the pathetic coaching, playing and decision making from the head office.
They talk about Commitment to Excellence, but have failed to follow through on the mission statement.

I've been saying the same thing for quite some time. What really agravates me is that it's been taking 4 years before our first round picks blossom into what was expected of them. Nnamdi Asomugha didn't blossom until his 4th season and the same goes for Robert Gallery. Now Michael Huff is in his 4th season and suprisingly is tied for the league lead in INTs and he's playing in a reserve role. At this rate Jamarcus Russell won't blossom until next year; Darren McFadden in 2011, and Darrius Heyward-Bey in 2012.

You know, now that I think about it, I thought this was the reason Jeff Garcia was signed this offseason...To Give Russell the neccessary push to do well because there is a proven vet on the bench that could easily take his place. However I know the reason Garcia was let go after camp was because he refused to accept the role of a back up. Now you have Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye both awaiting their chances to show that they have game. Frye was a failure in Cleveland and Gradkowski hasn't had much NFL playing time at all so I don't think either one of them gives Russell the push to do well that Garcia did.

Eagles released Garcia but so sorry he does not want to be second fiddle to the incompetent Russell.

It looks to me from the outside looking in your big-headed coach is only interested in in HIS running game and HIS name and like Asomugha, has been blinded with HIS own ego and failed TO SEE all the reciever talent falling to the wayside.Oakland has to be the NFL toilet, flushing all that offensive talent down the drain. Give your back-up quarterback Gradkowski one season with Darius and Jonnie Lee with out the 80 percent running game and wash your hands of that self- centered head coach and you guys will be respected in the league. You already have the defense in the game. You just have you offensive stars sitting on the bench as onlookers like myself.
