It's pretty obvious that London has lost control of the team. To be able to hire a new OC in 1 day is pretty amazing thing.

When Fairchild was head coach at Colorado State - they had a reputation as an uptempo team. His problem was the inability to recruit sizeable o-linemen. They were consistently undersized, and having to go against the "old" Big 8/12 of Nebraska, Oklahoma, TX, etc....his guys just weren't big enough. With UVA's line and QB potential - I'm thinking that the output will increase dramatically from the past couple of years.

College football is so inflated and has become all about profits for large schools. Give me one reason why coordinating a football team's offense should garner a half-mil salary...I'm in the wrong business obviously.

UVA football revenue is around $20M/yr, most salaries included; the net profit is over $3M/yr which helps pay for the other athletic programs.

UVA Football is a business. Period. Like all businesses, you have labor (athletes) and management (coaches) and operating costs to contend with. UVA does not give money to them for salaries or scholarships....so, save the "poor teacher" stories for elsewhere. Dude is almost spot-on - Do you really think women's volleyball is self-sustaining? how about the Nationally recognized Crew? The salary being paid is not far off from the median salary, and UVA is getting a coach which will hopefully change the "three up the middle" mentality and put points on the board.
