Hiya Bob. I'm going to wait with you. We still have some major signing to due. BEN, Keomatu, Starks. Nate Washington is due a tender of almost 1.5. I don't think he's worth that. He stepped up a little bit, but not enough.

Washington is the fastest guy on the team and could be a good field stretcher but he drops so many damn balls that the other D doesn't have to double him.

IMO we've been waiting on him too long. He dose'nt even have any trade value. Wilson did'nt have many touches this year either. Not his fault. He has much better hands, but his size is against him. I really believe they will draft another WR, hopefully James Hardy.

Hardy would be a great pick if they did not have the line problems. It may take him 2-3 years in the Steeler system to shine. I would hope they would take an immediate impact player in the first. Wait! Brainstorm! Then they trade 2nd and 3rd for another #1 after their first pick!

There's a possibility that Hardy MAY be around in the 2nd. IF that happens who knows. Tomorrow's free agency moves will dictate the course of the draft.

Justin Smith looks like Pittsburgh would be perfect for his size and style of play. Sort of like how Bettis was what Steelers run game was all about, Smith would be to stoping the run/rushing passer in the 3-4. Taylor made for his skills.

LeBeau sure likes him. He has some speed too. If we could get him for the D & Scott for the O...

According to the latest, Justin Smith will be out of our market. Scott maybe within reach at this point. They must make at least one good move for a lineman in free agency.

What's up Bill? Things are starting to move. I've been out of the loop for a few days and just found out about Ben's contract.

Hey Bob! Yes, things are beginning to move. Ben's extension FINALLY has been put to bed for at least the next 8 yrs. Now it appears we can make some moves. Read the Smith thread to catch up. Thats exactly what the Steelers have to do now IMO...catch up.

Hey guys check this article out...

BPA is how they'll go. I believe that will be James Hardy. I bet Ben re-empasized that when he inked that contract.

I reviewed a coupla more mock drafts last nite. All boards have a us taking G, Brandan Albert in the 1st. That would be alright with me, however I still believe BPA is the route. One board had Rashaad Mendenhall going beyond our pick at 23.
Man! That would be a heck of a grab. Mendenhall is a beast. Jonathon Stewart might be there too.
A WR moving up the board is Mich SU's Devin Thomas. He's not as tall as James Hardy @ 6'2, but he's faster & also has great hands. I like this guy a lot. Marvin Lewis is hot for James Hardy. I guess they are preparing to have a replacement ready for Ocho Cinco.
I did see a board that had us take DE, Phillip Merling from Clemson. This guy has size, speed & a big motor. IMO he might not be a bad pick either.

From all the material I've read over I believe the coaching staff have some plans to give DE Ryan McBean (who reportedly is now on crutches) and C, Darnell Stapleton a good shot to move to the front lines this year. Two aces up their sleeves so to speak. Man...I hope we don't get trumped.

I can't see the steelers taking a tight end anywhere near the top 5 of their picks. April is just around the corner.

I think BPA is good too as long as you are 90% sure you are going to get what you need in round 2 and or are willing to trade up/down to get it. By the way my BPA does not include a linebacker or SS. We are stocked in those areas. Overstock dosen't appeal to me with us being in a dog fight for the division.

We are flush at TE. I have'nt made reference to one have I? Tumans gone which we knew he would be. We just signed that big UDFA TE, Trannon (?) in January with that QB Zabransky. We can definitely see Ariens influence with the TE situation tho. I think there are 4-5 total on the current roster.

You got that right. I think we might need a LB for depth, but hopefully that will come with a walkon that can play ST like Harrison did.
