I know, I know the O-line and the aging D-line, but think of this. Teams will no longer be able to just stack the line with 8 and dominate the
O-line like they did last year. With Ward, Holmes and Sweed they will HAVE to drop back some LB's into coverage. Then they will have to respect the 1-2 running back duo and with a more balanced defensive attack and coverage scheme. Of course, which in turn goes back to that 1-2 punch I was talking about. Pick your poison kind of thing. The Browns will be our only competition and I still think we beat them both games.

Secondly, if Woodley and Timmons can crack the starting line up it would be a tremendous uprgrade, speed wise, for our LB crew. They looked very old at the end of the season and this would keep them fresher for the playoffs. The Rook, Butch Davis is no joke either, to spell the LB's once in awhile. I say all this, cause the new speed will help protect that line, that is still very good, just no depth. I think we might pull off a few shut outs this year.

Lastly, the Browns, Bengals and ravens suck. I think we could run the table. I know people will call me out on this if they lose a game or two, but I still think we get the title. After that, if our cornerbacks step up and Polamalu is back to form after playing hurt we could challenge the Jags, Colts and the cheatriots for the AFC title.
I am back so lets get to it.

Hey MWS. I am with you all the way. The Mighty Steelers are going to surprise many. 11-5, 12-4, 13-3. I'll narrow it down more after camp LOL.
It is very good to trade type with you once again.

The clowns will lose both games to the steelers this season. They can't win if Retread Lewis can't move the chains. Last year he rushed for under 40 yds. in both games. They take to the air and watch out because Woodley is playing every snap this season and they will not be able to handle him and Harrison rushing the QB. Watch for those two to put up Kevin Green and Greg Loyd type numbers. Blitzburgh is back!

This is going to be one of the toughest and most exciting season I can ever remember. I cannot wait to see these new draft picks in action. Just think of this formation...

Roethlisberger in shotgun flanked by Parker and Mendenhall. Three receiver set with Holmes to the left, Sweed and Ward to the right. Switchout either Mendenhall or Parker for Dixon. The versatility of our offense this season is going to go unmatched in the league!!

No sh!t Steagle, can you see Dixon in motion out of the back field and the defense going into panic mode?

Miller is going to be the starter but it doesn't hurt to have these guys to add to the mix.

Thanks alot. Good to be back. We have the toughest schedule, the cheatriots have the easiest. Go figure. Looks the like the NFL is posing for the cheats to go on another undefeated run. Anyway, we look real good on paper. If we can get through the injury bug that everyone outside of Pittsburgh forgot about we will contend.

Can you believe the "experts" are picking the Browns to win the division. We have one of the best drafts in the league, we won the title last year and we are getting picked second. Some experts. I agree and dont forget about Timmons. He is a beast if he can crack the rotation. I Farrior has grown on me over the years, but he showed his age last year. I would like to see the new guys put up Blitzburgh numbers and never look back.

I like this post. The scouts said that Mendenhall is a great blocking back too and catches good too. Wow, even if he stays in the backfield, he may block, run or catch out he will have to be covered at all times. Of course dont forget the other side, I think thier is a pro bowler over thier that will have to have someone on defense to keep an eye on too. I dont see many teams that have that much speed on defense to cover all that and then Ward, Holmes, Sweed and then throw Nate Washington in the mix. I know he has not stepped up big time yet but look for him to work harder now that he has some real competition and the #3, he is better than he has played.

I am trying to think of a line in the AFC that looks good enough to take on our 3 hopefully healthy down lineman and then the speed to cover Woodley, Timmons and Harrison on the outside. Now if we could get someone good enough at corner to move Townsend inside we would have a tough defense to score on. One person I notice we forget about is Ryan Clark. He has been solid and we saw what happened when he went down to injury.

It might be possible for your wish to come true this season. Bryant McFadden! He was close last year. The secondary coach says McFadden is going to be a star in this league. He might have what it takes this season. I believe our secondary is on the verge of blossoming into a really fine unit. We have William Gay who played very well last year. We also drafted Ryan Mundy who from all accounts should make the team. Mundy is very a very physical guy who is very football smart. Speaking of intelligence, Anthony Smith should be alot smarter this upcoming season too. I think we are looking Mighty Good!

Ill tell you something people overlook about Anthony Smith. I watched him at Syracuse and he is a ball hawk. He should have let his play do all the talking but he really is good. He knows it and has been itching to prove himself. That is what Brady used against him. His aggresivness, but when he gets his head on straight and his mouth on lockdown he will be really good. I think pro bowl good.

I agree. I like Anthony. I was very happy he was drafted. He has the tools and certainly the aggression. Maturity I think will arrive with the coming season. When you look back on that PATS game on the play where he bit on that Moss to Brady pass...Anthony almost recovered to make the play. IF he would have made it he may have been called a hero instead of a goat. LOL!

He was so far out of the play and as you said, he was only inches away from deflecting that pass. He just needs a few more years under Clark. Do you think we will get Buger McFarland to add depth to the D-line? I thought he would make a great fit.

From what I've read the Steelers may have an inside track on Booger. He is staging a workout for several teams on June 4th. The Steelers will be there. I believe that he and Tomlin have a connection. When it was reported he signed a coupla months back...Booger was ecstatic. Then it was reported he failed his physical. Perhaps, they made some conditional agreement. He would be a very welcome addition if he's healthy.
