Arizona Cardinals expectations: Carson Palmer, Rashard Mendenhall success does not ensure playoffs

Jul 20, 2013 Full story: Revenge of the Birds 12

With some people predicting over 4000 yards from Palmer and 1000 from Mendenhall, is this the way to ounch their ticket into the postseason? There has been a lot of great discussion on the site over the past few days about the Arizona Cardinals and their expectations for the 2013 season.

Palmer played well for the Raiders. And as for the int's, I was very critical of him. But he proved me wrong we had a below average team and he only had 14 int's. Drew Brees had 19. It was the right decision to unload him. But not because of his talent. AZ got a good qb.

I said this in another post, but Palmer is the Troy Aikman of this generation of QB's. With a team around him, he could win tons of super bowls. But looking back, he has rarely had a team in a career, and Peyton Manning he is not. He has been one of the "good not great" qb's of the past decade.

"MY" OPINION HERE IS, they should have paid CARSON PALMER his due money to stay! it was expensive, but they should have paid him and kept him!

I look for AZ to have a good season. They've got one of the best QB's in the league......along with one of the best WR's and a great RB.

The Raiders will rue the day they gave Palmer away.

Na, they just don't give a SHI* anymore. The team this year is 50 million against the cap. Ya, less than half the average of what most teams in the NFL are. So what is they win 3, 4 or 5 games. They already have forgone this season in hopes of drafting better players for next year. Keep in mind im a pretty big Raiders fan, and hating seeing Palmer go, but Raiders management will never miss this guy.

Agreed. The day they let Palmer walk by offering him a no-guarentee contract is the day RMck revealed his true intention is to tank the team, have high draft picks next year when they have the money to spend.
