What's Behind the War on Women?

There are 442 comments on the ideas.time.com story from Mar 8, 2012, titled What's Behind the War on Women?. In it, ideas.time.com reports that:

Women are being attacked for their accomplishments, which only shows we've got more work to do

Perhaps Rush Limbaugh and Rick Santorum have done women a favor. We now have a clear picture of what we’re up against. We have full access to the perverted (and I use the word advisedly) logic of the radio head; only the sick-minded can continue to take Limbaugh seriously.

And, during the reality TV series that is the Republican primary, a presidential contender’s vision for the future of women is clear: they should stay home, and, when not pressing aspirin between their knees, they should be pressing tea party science (which is to say, fable) into their children’s brains.

The war is against people who keep EXPECTING their government to PROVIDE for them.
[And it just happened to be a woman who in this case, EXPECTED the government to provide her with something of value (the 'pill'), so she could have care-free 'relations'].
This instance is just ONE example of how far some people will go out of their way in EXPECTING the government to fill their every need.
LOL. yo einstein! it's not the government providing the pill it's the government saying that the insurance company/healthcare provider cannot withhold the pill on moral or religious grounds.

AMEN.
Reminds me of BIG OIL getting $24 BILLION in GOVERNMENT WELFARE last year alone while making RECORD PROFITS EXPORTING OUR AMERICAN OIL and charging We the People RECORD HIGH PRICES at the pump.
God Bless We the People, PLEASE!
LONG LIVE the FREE MARKET!
no kidding! all this drill baby drill crap is a farce. domestic oil goes into the world commodity market just like foreign oil. 8 years of bush/cheney and people wonder why oil is costing us so much and making the oil companies so rich. we are still way behind china in the development of sustainable energy. time to wake up.

Everyone should stop driving for 7 days. You will see how low gas prices will go because they will have no where to store it and the price at the pump will be around 10 cents a gallon.

There wouldn't be a war on women if they would just live like they did 100 years ago, you know, when they had no rights.
moron, the "war on women" is a TOTALLY made up campaign ploy by the white house being carried out by their slobbering lemmings, the media, to take ALL the heat of obama's incredibly stupid contraceptive mandate...
and idiots like you eat it up like popcorn!

IF there was a "war on women", where's the outrage over the comments made by ed schultz and bill maher?

Howard Stern said stuff like this on public radio, and on TV. Bill Maher still says stuff like this.

The war on women is a ploy/figment of the left's imagination (what little imagination they have).

When I left the old country I was told to take a woman with me, she will be in bed and in the kitchen most of the time and wont complain. I didn't. So now I have to make it with someone like Fluke that demands the Government pay for her contraceptive and until that is done I have to look at my porn and bark.

Your point?
My point: He's still around doing the same thing. Maybe not on public radio, but he's still around doing it. Selective outrage at its finest.

Exactly.
Gas prices are based on supply and demand.
Conservation is the only way that the average citizen can effect the price of fuel.
Demand goes down, prices go down.
Try explaining that simple fact to a dumb bagger.
They were outraged that Obama said to make sure the air psi on your tires was up to specs. And to turn your stat down in your homes.
Or drive a car with better gas mileage.
The dumb baggers cried socialism.
Thank god these dumb raciat people are dying off.
it's very funny, this cry of socialism. have any of these mouth breathers ever been to one these countries they label as socialist? sweden, norway, denmark are the closest thing to a socialist democracy and their standard of living is way way higher than ours. they live longer, they are healthier AND they are richer... maybe we could learn something from them.

You are free to go move to one of these countries.

i am free to move. problem is they don't speak english and my family lives here. anyway douchey, i didn't say i wanted to move i said we could learn something from a system that appears to be working. it's called change. scary. real scary.
and by the way, you are confusing democracy with ideal democracy or true democracy. our representative republic is a hybrid democracy. we still vote for laws withy popular vote but also allow our elected officials to vote for laws too. maybe you don't visit the voting booth too much? regardless, you should have learned all this in civics class and at the very least you should know how to use google. LOL!
