Absolutely true on all your points Barbara, thanks for reminding everyone!
I'm glad to do it. We should NEVER forget this case because, as we post on here, this low-life activity is still going on everywhere in the USA. Michael Vick, named the spokesperson for the ASPCA, has had no effect on curbing the felonious dogfighting activity anywhere. If anything, it has increased. The only way this type of cruelty to animals will stop is jail time and increasing the penalties associated with it. The criminals associated with dogfighting and animal abuse need to be in jail as they are a danger to society....not just the dogs.

IT IS LAUGHABLE HOW PEOPLE DENIGRATE MICHAEL VICK OVER A SPORT THAT WAS THE SPORT OF KINGS AND QUEENS. ALL OF YOU WHO DISLIKE VICK FOR LEGITIMATE REASONS ARE FINE BUT MUCH OF HIS CRITICISM ORIGINATES IN HATE.
First off the reason that Michael Vick has not does as well as he could is because the Eagle went away from the offensive scheme that made Vick successful in his first year. The second reason he had problems with his performance was due to one of the worst offensive lines in football (pro or college).
I see that one of you called him convict...yes he was sent to jail for 2 years for injuring dogs. I would challenge you to find anyone else who received such a harsh sentence. A man in Kalamazoo, Michigan received 160 of community service for being part of a dog fighting ring. Many of the same hypocrites who chastise Vick can be found viewing boxing or MMA cage fighting between humans. Dog fighting is wrong but it should not be used to denigrate the life of a human being. That "sport of Kings and Queens" was introduced by Englishmen in the USA many years ago. However, England has banned dogfighting but the USA lags behind them in doing so. Dogfighting deteriorated from the "sport of Kings and Queens" to a sport of low-life individuals who's only way of feeling "powerful" is to watch dogs fight each other to the death and has further sunk down to the torture and killing of losing dogs. The only people participating in this sick "sport" now are ignorant blacks and whites who aren't intelligent enough to find more productive ways to boost their own self esteem.

Either that or their isn't anything inherently wrong with dogs fighting each other. Do you possess any evidence that dog fighting is bad or is it simply something you don't like.

Anything that's a felony is bad. But then, that's probably why you're so defensive about dogfighting, huh? Why don't you start a drive to get dogfighting arenas set up so the general public can come watch? Have some kiddie rides and games and make it a family thing. You can even set up special booths for the drug and arms dealers so the kids can learn how it's done. Shouldn't allow smoking because that's bad for your health but you can have a nice "private area" where others can have a little weed, a few drinks, do a little coke or meth, and you could even post a couple of folks on guard so you can make a little money on the side. Even better, set aside a place where the youngsters can watch the losing dogs being tortured when they are hung, beaten, drowned, bodyslammed, or electrocuted to death. Teaching your kids how to be a felon must be a good thing for you. Your kids will thank you for introducing them to this "sport".

WOW, what you just described sounds like what the Sociopath, aka Vick would love! In fact he probably experienced just that growing up!! Now as an adult, he just blames everyone including his family for why he got involved in dog fighting. Wonder who taught him to kill and torture the losing dogs? Maybe it was just the pure evil that exists in him!

One thing about the Vick case...I've read up on dogfighting in America and many articles regarding this "sport". When I learned that some folks actually take their kids to watch these unlucky dogs tear each other to pieces I was totally disgusted. Mikey got his start at a very young age and his parents, friends and neighbors just turned a blind eye to his activities. Now that he is wealthy and famous, his fans simply don't care what he did to those dogs preferring to idolize him to the very end of his days. Mikey has talked out of both sides of his mouth on the "blame" issue. His mother claimed she didn't know about his dogfighting and Mikey didn't dispute her statement. I don't believe anything that comes out of his mouth.

Really? Rosa Parks is a criminal?
The victims in the Nazi extermination camps deserved it?
People in the Russian forced labor camps deserved it because they didn't believe in communism?
The Salem "witches" deserved it?
There has never been a bad law?
Are you serious?

Then there is the circular logic of your statement. "It is bad so it is a law" along with the notion "it is a law because it is bad." Your logic is all over the place.

I don't know what the problem is with dog fighting. I don't like dog fighting so I don't go to dog fights. Problem solved. If kids enjoy it, what is the problem?

Bloodsport has been around for ages and was enjoyed by people that society reveres to this day.

So, which one of those were convicted in a court of law for a felony?
