russell needs to back up that big contract the rest of the season. if not he could be gone in this labor deal. uncapped season may be upon us next season. he needs to buy more diamonds and fur coats while he can.

Ever since the Rickey Dudley fiasco, Most first round picks have stuck around throughout their contracts no matter how good or bad they are. Since then the only ones to make the Pro Bowl within their first 2 years were DT Darrell Russell and DB Charles Woodson and the only other one to make it at all was Nnamdi Asomugha. OL Mo Collins retired early after injury trouble. OL Matt Stinchcomb left after his rookie contract expired, Sebastian Janikowski is still with us, DB Derrick Gibson was a day 1 bust that Gruden kept benching, DB Phillip Buchannon was nice but forced a trade, LB Napolean Harris apparently was good enough to force Gred Biekert out but was traded away for Randy Moss, DB Nnamdi Asomugha became the best corner in the NFL in his 4th season and started the trend of taking 4 seasons for a first rounder to blossom, DL Tyler Brayton left after his initial contract expired, OL Robert Gallery followed Aso's trend of taking 4 years to blossom, DB Fabian Washington seemed to blossom in his second season, but Kiffin benched him and eventually traded him, Michael Huff was showing some spark at the begining of the season and again followed Aso's trend of taking 4 years for a first rounder to develop. Jamarcus Russell, Darren McFadden, and Butterfingers Heyward-Bey are supposed to be our offensive triplets of the future and none of them have shown the signs of being worthy of a top 10 pick. The last draft pick that made an imediate difference on our team was Charles Woodson and he made the pro bowl as a rookie. The last one that made a difference on offense was Marcus Allen. In recent drafts, I've yet to see "the guy" that instantly makes a football team better. The last draft pick that instantly made a football team better was Ben Rothlesberger for the steelers. What really bugs me is that our head coaches the last 2 drafts said that about our last 2 first round picks and I haven't seen it from either one.

The trend of keeping first rounders around too long started with Rickey Dudley and I guarantee that J Russell, BHB, McFadden, and Huff will all follow that trend as did Derrick Gibson did. Other 1st round picks since Dudley were decent, none were as bad as Dudley, Gibson, Huff, J Russell, and BHB. I'm trying to give McFadden the benifit of the doubt since he's been injured so much, but when he's been healthy I haven't seen him make a difference yet.

the only thing different i would have to say is mcfadden doesnt have a passing game thats y he lacks and keeps getting injured. they know we only have the run thats y this year our running game has lacked. no passing game. also qb ryan, flacco and e. manning all had good first years. showed signs of being great. russell nothin and probably never will. sorry to have to say this but we truely need a white qb. black players r about the bling. look at this year and crabtree.

Josh Freeman looked pretty good today for Tampa Bay and he's black...Race has nothing to do with it; it's all in his attitude. Heyward-Bey has a good attitude and is a hard worker and strides to get better, but he's got butterfingers on his hands and we don't need that. I really thought H-Bey was gonna make a difference the way Cable talked about him, but I really don't see it. Until he's a threat to catch the football he won't be a decoy.

Normally I would agree with this but all I’m really saying is that. giving him a huge contract like that his southern mentality growing up the way he did he is just enjoying the money without worrying about the consequences of what happens if he plays bad. Look at other quarterbacks who have came out lately and have not had the same attitude. Ryan, Flaco, Sanchez and even Quinn have all embraced the winning part. Quinn has struggled to even get on the field (due to what team he plays for) all the QB’s have gotten paid great money but it doesn’t seem like it influences them one bit. Now Freeman on the other hand is different. He got picked later and didn’t get that huge contract. Vince Young is getting paid good money but he is in a bad situation and he is the only black QB that hasn’t just said whatever and I’m getting paid either way. You can see it on JR. It shows. Big Time! Body language and the way he just goes and sits on the bench puts a beanie on and waits for other to come to him. Doesn’t fire up the o-line or his wr’s. He doesn’t care. There are other laid back QB’s that are black in college that have leadership when needed. My fav is Miami’s Jacoby Harris. Also LSU QB.

alot of people ask about his leadership (j russel)and that he don't care. but if you are not playing well or for that fact "terrible". it's hard for him to show leadership. if he starts to connect and make progress on a consistant basis THEN, he can show his leadership. but, yeah i guess he could still rally the team up a bit. he did not want to take blame for some of those passes that were not caught but he also did take blame for some of those that should have or could have been caught. the (wr's) take blame as well. not running routs on time and being out of place. look at how many passes would have been caught had the (wr's) caught most of those dropped passes? where would this team be at today? at least two more wins on our belt? timing! and it will work out. DH-BEY is still learning. RUSSELL, is still learning but getting closer for them two being the tag team. while schilens was out it made time for them two to connect and they showed flashes at times but are getting better. we as fans have been so unpatient and you can see why(lol) but hopefully they all connect on their game plan. we have all the great players. just not all together on plays.2nd half of the season will tell a bit more! mean time, more support!

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Libra

It's another day when tensions are rife and you feel stretched to breaking point. You might even totally lose your temper with someone, instead of merely snapping at them as you did yesterday. Mars stomps into reverse today, so it would be better to clear the air now with a row, and then forget all about it, rather than allowing bad feelings to accumulate and fester inside you.
