Examining Nnamdi Asomugha's Sad, Rapid Decline in Philadelphia

Full story: BleacherReport

There's a decent chance that the biggest free-agent signing of the 2011 NFL offseason and one of the most heavily hyped veteran acquisitions in Philadelphia Eagles history will officially become a bust by the end of the week, because with Nnamdi Asomugha due to make $15 million and only 27 percent of that money guaranteed, the Eagles could release ... AsoMugha's decline with the Eagles is sad. But not surprising. As a Raider his success was attributed to the system he was in man 2 man .

I always liked Nnamdi. Yes, he was elite in Oakland. Partially due to his spectacular technique and our system, and also partially due to the fact that the other CB's we had during his time were burnt as easily as tissue paper. So, why go after a "good" CB in your gameplan when you can just run right past Stanford Routt, Chris Johnson, Dante Hall and others?

Nmamdi started as a safety in Oakland, and I think his best position now would be a move back to SS covering TE, and helping with the run game, something he has always been good at. Charles Woodson made a similar move at this point in his career at Green Bay and was very successful.

I also wanted to say, that the current take that Nnamdi was never very good, but was just never thrown at is wrong. His first year as starting CB he was thrown at often. He made 8 picks that year and went to his first probowl. That's why they stopped throwing at him.

Ya, i was referring to his later years in Oakland, and those years having not been thrown at.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Sagittarius

It's important to be discriminating about what you say and believe today. That's because communications are rather strange, with people saying or doing odd things and plenty of scope for crossed wires. Be very careful if you're attending to important details because for some reason your brain may switch off at the vital moment, leaving you prone to making mistakes or losing track of what you're doing. Try to double-check anything important tomorrow when your brain is back in gear.
