Oakland's long road back to relevancy

There are 3 comments on the NFL story from May 3, 2013, titled Oakland's long road back to relevancy. In it, NFL reports that:

The needs are everywhere for the Oakland Raiders . For a franchise without a winning season since 2002, without a first-round draft pick in the previous two drafts, there's no debating that.

He talked about trying to fill holes but getting depth so you need to draft the best player.

My opinion is that you need starters before depth but if there is too good of a player to pass on because you know good and well he won't be there that is when you grab him. I still think Hayden was a reach but I hope he pans out well for us.

If, and i mean it's a big if, the guys we picked(half or 3/4) of them end up end up being difference makers or at least quality starters, then it will have been a successful draft. If we literally, each and every year, picked the highest rated player at a position of need, Mel Kiper would love us, but we wouldn't be a very good football team.

Now, of course there is some kind of a balancing point. If you had a 25 year old Peyton Manning, you wouldn't be using a 1st round pick on a QB, no matter what. But, as it stands, at least Reggie is doing that he is talking about.

i see what you are saying and it makes much sense, but for this year if mckenzie say's we are competing, we needed a difference maker. a player that leads the team by example. i would have taken s floyd. now people say what if he's a bust? vs all the players we got? well, what if he wasn't a bust and turned out to be a great player? the "difference maker". so i side with T-RAIDER'S comment there. the bad part is we have so much in need because of all the starters released. so yeah, i see where 3/4's of them are needed to be hopeful "difference makers". all in all, i liked this draft. but, i would have taken floy'd, and taken a hopeful shot at hayden on our next pick but if he wasn't available? there were other nice decent (cb's) available. regardless, it turned out the way it turned out. there are still free agents out there plus all the undrafted players that were signed. i just hope that any of all those players mckenzie picked out work out. charles woodson is still out there? that's a difference maker? AND, related to mckenzie in green bay, AND, x-RAIDERS. i always said not to woodson after he left. but now i say yes!
RAIDERS 2013!!!
