2009 NFL Season Predictions

AFC West:
Raiders: will win 8 games. JaMarcus will continue to start slow and make mistakes but our running game and D play great early on in the season. As the offense gets tweaked, J Marc starts to show real flashes of consistency and leadership and you can sense the team is behind him for once. D Mc Fad is raiders leading rusher with just over 1,000 yards and Bush+Fargas combine for another 800.

Broncos: QB will continue to be Jay Cutler, but their offense will sputter while adjusting away from the west-coast passing, zone-scheme blocking that made them so effective. Oh, and all the Rb's are garbage. Defense will improve but not to the point where they get over 8 or 9 wins.

Chargers: Defense gets its swagger back with the return of Shawn Merriman. LT has a timeshare RB committee with Sproles and whoever the RB in the 2nd round is gonna be that the Chargers will pick. Phillip Rivers gets injured and plays through it as much as he can, but sucks pretty bad anyway. 9-10 wins tops! LT shows flashes of former self but gets traded/cut at end of season.

Chiefs: Matt Cassell is day 1 starter and Dwayne Bowe once again regains Fantasy value. Chan Gailey continues to run that spread-type offense and the chiefs go heavy on the WR position in the draft. Defense does not receive much attention but their pair of young corners continue to improve and grab about 4 picks each with Brandon Flowers making the pro bowl as an alternate. LJ can't run worth SH*T in that offense they run now and he gets cut at end of season. 5-8 wins(depends on how good Cassel actually is)

AFC West:
Chargers win the division...But early exit out of playoffs(curse of Turner)...Phillip Rivers has a good year...LT has a great year...he is out to prove his worth.
2nd place is a toss up between Raiders and Denver...a lot depends on Broncos ability to adapt to the new scheme and if Cutler can put his big boy pants on and play football.
Raiders will have 6 maybe 7 wins...we have a tough schedule and Cable's first full season....Raiders need to adapt as well...between our schedule and the new coach....6 or 7 wins is realistic. I'd like 8 or 9 but am tring to be realistic.

Chiefs will struggle because Cassels is not that good of a QB and its a new coach and new scheme...Cassels played well in NE because they have a stellar O-Line. He won't have that in KC. They will wil 4 or 5....

i'm gonna be realistic in my own ways here. in other words i'm probably full of it or living in a fantasy RAIDER world.(LOL)
RAIDERS, cheifs, chargers broncos.
im gonna say oakland is ready and experienced with cable. players want to play for him period.
cheifs were missing a spark last year and cassel, and a new coach? cheifs will rise a bit more.
chargers will lose confidence with turner. starting late and not finishing any better or worse!
broncos? broncos lost shanny cutler will be back but that team needs too many repairs. first of all, to put their team together.
RAIDERS will win the afc west.

Denver Broncos in thrid at 7-9
Kansas City Cheifs in last at 4-12

speak about the dykekings, just some recent news. former 2nd rnd pick (G)marcus johnson, left minn. to play for oakland and will play a backup for cooper carlile and robert gallery. johnson started as a tackle but because of barnes and satele he will be a back-up

There is a paragraph in here that states they look to carry 6 WRs and DHB, JLH, and Chaz Schilens are the only ones guaranteed to make the team. It makes me feel better about Walker not being a lock to make the team, and with his recent surgery that he didn't tell the team about I think it's got him on the hot seat now. I got a feeling that in addition to the 3 that are locks, two of the others will be Louis Murphy and Arman Shields. The reserves gotta be able to play special teams too.

(fb)lorenzo oneal,is becomming a leader in the crowd since joining the RAIDERS. i say fine, cool, players don't care for him but i feel players need that. russell nor fargas nor anyone has stepped up to be thaT LEADER. they say russell cannot be a leader if he's not one yet,"understandable" fargas, prettymuch keeps to himself. and no one else has stepped it up.(s) mitchell will be one someday (soon) but has to start and prove himself. don't want him to end up like that seattle fool that bo jackson ran over,whats his name? that's right the boz! well, bore like the bozo!(LOL) but yeah, i respect the fact that lo oneal, is talking smack to wake these guys up!

We definetly need a leader...however...we need a leader the players will get ehind....if what you say is true that players are on board with thi....then someone else needs to step up.

but anyways, besides (fb)lo neal,(rb) gary russell also signed with oakland. russell was with the squeelers for two seasons and scored the first touchdown in the superbowl for the squeelers vs cardinals.
